So now we know that there are smaller group performances of Can’t Hurry Love and Beggin’. I wonder if this is to end the first half? It seems like the top 4 aren’t doing any group performances other than the very end.

IIRC, this makes sense to end the first half of the show – they’ll usually close with a group number of the bottom 5 (or 6) leading into intermission.

Not sure I like the Kradam collaboration idea. Haven’t they said repeatedly that they know their styles are so different (which they are), and, though it’s not impossible for 2 different performers to collaborate (and do it well), I’m still not sure how well it would work with the two of them.

Speaking of someone with no filter ‘ ¦ Gene does seem to love Adam though.

It sounds like back-handed compliments at best to me. Gene Simmons, slimeball that he is, has figured out that the press will pay attention to him if he talks about Adam, especially if he sounds controversial. It’s what Gene Simmons has been doing for decades- staying famous by being outrageous, rather than producing music anyone wants to hear.

there’s also a short article about Kris and Adam on Access Hollywood but it basically repeats the People article. I do love how Adam names everyone he works with while Kris is the opposite in which he is very tight-lipped.

According to Lyndsay Parker, in part of her interview with Lil, a few of them are doing Mad Con’s Beggin as part of a group performance. I asked her per twitter (hehe.. it’s funny how it’s so easy to get some answers now) if everyone was in it or just some, and she said that it’s not all of them but Anoop is in it. Thanks for that – that’s interesting – so looks like they cut down on Megan’s and Michael’s songs (they only get 2 solo’s unlike last year where the bottom two got 3 songs) so there would be more group numbers for the bottom 6. At the same time, there’s more songs for the Top 4.

I’ve read MJ’s rules. I don’t see the one that requires posters to know the names of all Idol contestants. I couldn’t remember the kid’s name during the season and, for me, winning hasn’t made him any more memorable. I make no effort to learn their names unless I really like their singing or they are really hot (and female).

I think it’s great that his fans are excited by his dramatic win. That’s the way it should be. As many opinions about the outcome as there are fans.

I guess this is going to be more S6 tour, less S7 with the different group performances and all that. I didn’t go to the S6 one, but I heard it was better format-wise than last year’s, so that’s fine by me.

I could possibly see Adam and Kris collaborating at some point in the future, but in this interview I think they were just being polite–they’re going to be working on their solo efforts now.

The song sounded great, they had to have mixed the hell out of it, but I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think it showcased either if the distinctive aspects of their voices. It sounded kind of generic to me, pretty but generic. The Queen song was fun, and I loved their solo parts in each song, but together Adam sounded like he was holding back and kris sounded strained. I love these guys together, seem be genuinely friends and close, charming and funny as hell but musicallyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦naaaah.

ITA. Kris and Adam are great as friends, but I don’t think a duet would sound very good. I have a feeling they just mentioned it to keep the Kradam fangirls happy.

Thanks for the link to the People interview. A little bit of talk their about their albums, although nothing we didn’t really know already. It sounds like both guys are being allowed to write, or co-write, a lot of the stuff for the album, which is very cool.

Same here. There is a lot they can possibly do together, but from what I know of them I don’t actually care for the possibilities I can imagine. I thought that Ford Commercial was a cute montage retrospect, but musically it isn’t something I’d care for from either of them and doubt they would put anything out like that (unless forced, which is always a possibility haha). I know of many artists who don’t mesh on the surface that work in duets, but with these two establishing themselves it just doesn’t sound likely. I am curious about what they would co-write would sound like though.

From a business standpoint, I don’t see a Kradam duet really doing much anyway. If they want duets for Kris and Adam, it’s best to go for established, non-AI artists to raise non-AI visibility.

not everyone is as enlightened as we are here at MJs. a public example of two men that are very comfortable with one another despite differences in sexual preference is, in my opinion, a valuable image. think of the good that the image of the rat pack did. im, of course, not putting kris and adam anywhere near the level of the rat pack and their level of celebrity and talent… but i think it has been well recognized via rat pack lore that the race lines crossed in their alliance sent a very positive “by-example” message during the 50’s and 60’s when the US was going through the civil rights movement. well… we are in the middle of another civil rights movement and perhaps a few similar, high-profile friendships would do some good.
