‘American Idol’ Summer Tour Preview: Season 10’s Top 11 Interview Each Other (Video)

With the “American Idol” summer tour launching July 6, season 10’s Top 11 took a break from rehearsals for an exclusive sit-down with THR. In between group numbers (Cee-Lo’s “Forget You, ” Montgomery Gentry’s “Gone”) and lunch break (spotted helping Pia Toscano digest her salad: rumored beau Mark Ballas), they interviewed each other, while trying — mostly unsuccessfully — to keep a straight face.

Scotty and Casey are HILARIOUS Watch here. Paul and James are like ramblin men. Watch HERE. Lauren and Pia are also really funny together. Lauren is Kellie Pickler 2.0, except she’s a better singer. America’s got talent

More than 40, 000 firework shells will accompany the vocal elements of this year’s Macy’s celebration, which includes a mixture of patriotic standards and pop classics from artists like Brad Paisley, Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson and LeAnn Rimes.

Spotlight-seeking reality television stud Nick Lachey will be hosting the celebration. The former husband of pop-star Jessica Simpson and current fiancé of former MTV veejay Vanessa Minnillo is no stranger to the camera. Most recently, he has hosted two seasons of “The Sing-Off, ” a singing competition featuring a cappella groups which returns to NBC this fall.

Starstruck campers thrill Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood stopped by Starstruck Studios Wednesday morning to talk with the ACM Lifting Lives Music Campers, but she wound up doing more singing than talking.

And so, she sang, with accompaniment from the enthusiastic campers, all in town for a week-long residential camp that provides musical enrichment for the participants and allows Vanderbilt Kennedy Center researchers to study developmental disabilities. They all sang Underwood hits “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Undo It, ” as well as Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me.”

“I sing because I love to sing, and that’s what they love to do, too, ” Underwood said. “They just made my day, my week and my month.”

An American Idol Winner Proves There’s More to Life Than ‘Winning’

When most of the images and stories we see in the news are about narcissistic, selfish people- Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan and the Kardashians, for instance- it’s easy to become discouraged about the state of humanity. Even a nobody like Casey Anthony has become famous for allegedly committing the ultimate act of selfishness.

That’s why it’s so refreshing to read about a celebrity who cares about more than himself. Taylor Hicks has worked with various charities like The Children’s Cancer Research Foundation and Habitat for Humanity since his American Idol win, but I was most impressed by his hectic schedule during the past two months, helping to raise money for his home state.

Steven Tyler in Hub misses a lot of things about ‘Idol’

Aerosmith wild man and “American Idol” judge extraordinaire Steven Tyler proved yet again he’s the Ultimate Showman last night at the House of Blues, where he headlined Boston Common maggie’s summer bash.

The rocker, wearing a Boston police motorcycle helmet, drove up to the Lansdowne Street hot spot from the fab Four Seasons on a lime green Dirico motorcycle. Because it’s all about the entrance with Steven…

Simon and Paula bring back the bickering on ‘X Factor’

No “that was beautiful.” No “dawg.” No “it sounded pitchy.” Just much-missed bickering, constructive (and harsh, yet honest) criticism and dashed dreams. And no, this wasn’t “American Idol.”

It was “The X Factor.”

Fox gave an audience of 2, 500 in Seattle an early look at the show, which was in town on June 28 to tape auditions in front of the judges: former “Idol” duo Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, and new panel members L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger.

‘The Voice’s’ Adam Levine on Season 2 Return: ‘I’d Be Delighted To Be Back’

There were actually two winners on Wednesday’s The Voice. Not to take away from Javier Colon’s achievement, but Adam Levine also took away the bragging rights of being the first winning coach on NBC’s inaugural season of its hit singing competition.

Levine stopped for a quick Q&A on the red carpet with the press about the finale and whether he’ll be back for Season 2.

Q: So, you were all really into Season 1. Are you so into it that you’ll come back for Season 2?

Levine: Yeah, that’s the question that everyone’s asking me. I’d hate to say for sure, but I think so. If they’ll have me, I’d be delighted to be back.

‘The Voice:’ Javier Colon, Dia Frampton Vicci Martinez Making Album Plans

Winner Javier Colon, who had been dropped by Capitol and as late as January was still doing showcases for labels, is the only one of the finalists guaranteed a deal. He intends to work with his coach, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, on his album for Universal Republic and, quite possibly, with his fellow contestants.

Runner-up Dia Frampton said she intends to continue working with her sister in the duo Meg & Dia, who have already released two lo-fi, folky albums. She has already asked her band members if they will back her on a solo outing.

Vicci Martinez, the 26 year old blues-rock singer who shared the stage with Train’s Pat Monahan on the finale, says she will be working again with Monahan in the near future. She says she intends to start working on an album within a week and that a deal is already in the works.

Melanie LaPatin on ‘SYTYCD’: About that cha-cha…

What a week! I was as thrilled as anybody that no one got cut from the Top 20 last Thursday, but the other tap shoe had to drop eventually and FOUR dancers were eliminated. Yikes! And you know me, or you’re starting to: I’m an emotional kinda gal. So yes, I’ll admit that I MAY have gotten a little misty-eyed when the unlucky quartet were sent home. But ONLY a little misty-eyed. And if it happened to be MORE than a little, hey, my cats will never, ever tell on me!
