It’s no surprise that Adam Lambert brought the theatrics to the table, but he wailed out a great version of ‘Whole Lotta Love’  but then gave the weakest vocal performance of the night with a cover of Muse’s ‘Starlight.’  He recovered with ‘Mad World’  and some fog machines. I also loved how he kind of thumbed his nose at what ‘Idol’  is supposed to be about and did some seductive dance moves and ended with a David Bowie medley.

So I’m fine with bad Adam reviews, but the hyperbole involved with the line in bold above is what would make me question this one. Really? Weakest vocal of the night? Uh, just a guess, but I can’t imagine Megan, Michael, Scott, and most of the others didn’t come up with SOMETHING that was maybe kinda a little worse.

BTW – I did notice the retraction later, which was kind of funny. Still, I guess my point is that bad Adam reviews are fine, just not when it’s that much off base, logic wise.

Exactly. Regardless of whether or not the other AIers are ‘friends of a friend’  that doesn’t mean she loses her right to have an opinion. All the poor girl said was she found his set dull yet you’d think she accused him of being a child molester, given the reaction.

Exactly. Regardless of whether or not the other AIers are “friends of a friend” that doesn’t mean she loses her right to have an opinion. If somebody says they think Kris has a dull performance, the response shouldn’t be comparable to the person saying “Kris is a child molester,” and, unfortunately, it was darn close to it.

And the reaction is particularly ridiculous in light of the fact that people didn’t even read the tweet correctly so they got their panties in a bunch over something that evidently wasn’t even said.

Being Adam’s friend doesnt stop her from having an opinion and voicing it. Nothing tactless about that IMO.

Mtlfan, I did take up violin many years after I had begun on viola, and while it wasn’t a huge learning curve, it never felt quite as comfortable. I wouldn’t want to make any generalizations about it though — I think it depends on the individual. Many people do play both equally well.

Tweets of diff people at an AI concert are posted as the show goes along, usually in the thread for each show, Mj’s log does it, ontd_Ai does it. You dont have to follow the individual, people just post the comments as they come, and then when they posted Alisan’s,the pile on came. I dont know how twitter works, but reading the comments myself, basic common sense tells me they were mostly Kradam fans on Ontd_Ai who are primarily Allen fans.

My point is, the rabidness exists all around,esp true for Allen and lambert fans this year, no one fan group is better than the other IMO and the knee jerk responses are infantile and plain ridiculous

Now, maybe I’m a bit stupid ‘” but there is a lot of difference between writing that Starlight was ‘the weakest vocal performance of the night’  and today’s comment that she thought the key was too high and it didn’t show off his voice as well as it could have.

She’s pandering, and feeling the need to justify her comments,and she shouldnt have to! Mansfield also had to clarify some of his comments, as did the yahoo interviewer from the pile on!

I wish they wouldnt fall for the trap and wouldnt do that. Anybody who doesnt like a differing opinion or a little criticism of their fav should grow a thicker skin and stuff it,IMO!

Reviewers shouldnt have to “wet nurse” people’s obsessive behaviour!
