Today’s Idol headlines after the jump…
Fans say final goodbye to season six Idols
Sept. 23, marked the end of the Idol road for the Top 10 of season six. They were finally going home.
I flew up to Manchester, N.H., to see the last concert. I had invested many hours into the outcome of this highly addictive show. I wanted to hear them sing for the last time as a group and wish them all much success in the start of their solo careers.
I met 16 fellow Fanjayas (Sanjaya fans) who had flown, drove or took the bus to the Verizon Wireless Arena to witness the same……
Celeb Watch video: Abdul on children, love and ‘Hey Paula’
After mothering thousands of hopefuls on Fox’s American Idol, which returns for its seventh season in January, Paula Abdul is ready for a baby of her own.
“That’s the next step in my life,” says Abdul, 45, back in Los Angeles in between Idol auditions that have taken her to Philadelphia, Miami, San Diego, Charleston, S.C., Atlanta and Omaha. “Definitely within the next two years. I thought by now I’d have three grown children.”……
….Her own reputation fell as a result of her early summer Bravo reality series, Hey Paula, she acknowledges. She says the show falsely portrayed her as an unstable, hysterical, demanding diva.
“That was hard for me to watch. Disturbing,” says Abdul, who had a producing credit but no editing approval. “They’d put a camera on me when I got wind that my dog was in a coma, and they’d make it (seem) like it was about hair and makeup.”
She says she felt double-crossed when producers persuaded her to address her widely criticized Idol press junket debacle, in which she seemed disoriented. But including the segment only made matters worse.
She says she was asked to do a second season but flatly refused, choosing to focus instead on her fragrance, skin care, clothing and jewelry lines…..
Katharine McPhee Hears Wedding Bells
…….These two got together well before McPhee graced the American Idol stage. But you wouldn’t have known it. They reportedly kept it on the down low for “career reasons.”
So keep your eyes peeled and computers glued to the Gossip Girls. As soon as we know something, you’ll know something.
Short takes: Jackson parties at the Pavilion
…Two hot bodies from the Hot Country play list opened the show. “American Idol” veteran Kellie Pickler sang from her “Small Town Girl” debut. She premiered a cute new song co-written with Taylor Swift, “The Best Days of Your Life,” and posed like she must have as a girl in front of her bedroom mirror while knocking off classic country covers…
Ford Mustang Goes Pink
…We first told you about Ford’s Warriors in Pink program when its cool, tattoo-like graphics sucked us in. The program’s message touches so many women that I’m proud to say we are now hooked. This year Ford brought even more attention to the campaign by selecting Kelly Clarkson as its spokesperson. She’s got high fan appeal, being the first winner of “American Idol,” and she remains one of that show’s most successful winners. Now, Ford is putting all that love to good use….
Pop Tarts: Spears Surrenders Her Sons
…“American Idol” judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul recently told FOX that they were happy to house Britney and bring her back as a success story, and late last year, Rosie O’Donnell urged the songstress to turn away from her panty-free party pals and reside with her, her partner Kelli and their kids…
American Idol Contestant Jonathan Jayne Sings God Bless America
American Idol 6 might go down as being remembered most for the contestants that didn’t make it the finalists round. One of the most popular American Idol 6 applicants was a young man by the name of Jonathan Jayne. Jonathan and his friend Kenneth Briggs captured the hearts of American Idol viewers and earned a guest appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show……

American Idol finalist wows fair crowd
As it has for several other country music artists over the years, including Garth Brooks, the Coshocton County Fair provided a perfect venue Monday for up-and-coming Bucky Covington.
Covington ripped through a set which had the grandstand rocking and those with track seating dancing in the aisles……

From the article about Bucky:
I’ve had a soft spot for Bucky ever since Queen Night and “Fat-Bottom Girls.”
Never in a million years would I have thought Bucky would be one of the breakout stars of Season 5, but I’m thrilled for him. Sounds like a lot of his success is due to level-headedness and a lack of a big ego to battle. He was smart to get a team together who knew their way around the music business. Good on ya’, Bucky!
I suppose that the freak out about her assistants not packing her travel jeans was really just her reaction to global warming?
And when she went non-linear on the Home Shopping Network dude because they sold out her entire line of jewelry and she was going to have to spend her OWN money to buy gifts for the Idols…that was because she was concerned about starving children, right?
I’m sorry. Has somebody seen my eyes? They’ve rolled right out of my head.
Sure, reality TV can create franken-bites and the editing process can sometimes make somebody look worse (or better) than they are, but I don’t believe they created “Diva Paula” out of thin air. They had FAR too much footage to work with.
That said, Paula is wise not to agree to a second season. These shows live to show life outside the ordinary. They aren’t going to focus on you sitting around being nice and reading the newspaper. They are going to go for the drama. This was bound not to turn out well. File this under….”What was she Thinking?”
RE: Paula Abdul
Would she qualify as contestant for “Dancing With the Stars” ?
Marie Osmond Dancing With the Starved
“Pull yourself together!! Osmonds don’t cry; they smile!”

For Boulder Soul and other interested parties…your enthusiasm is infectious. I’m going to pick-up Bruce Spingsteen’s new album Magic before I head to work. Believe it or not, this will be my first purchase of any Springsteen album. I’m also going to try and hunt down Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings’s 100 Days, 100 Nights. They’ve done some work with Amy Winehouse and the like. They’re very funky.
Anyways…BSWD*!!!!!
*Bruce Springsteen; not to be confused with Boulder Soul. :)
Does anyone other than me, being the Evil Bitch (EB) wannabe I am, want to smack the smile off her face sometimes? LOLOL
Anywasy, onwards with the BSWD!!!!!
Enjoy two of Bruce’s official videos…

Methinks…and hopes….it won’t be the last.
Might I recommend Nebraska, Darkness of the Edge of Town, The Rising, Devils and Dust, and Tunnel of Love. Heck, there is not a bad one in his entire discography

This is an interview by Gray Charles even if your not a fan(Taylor) the person is a good writer.
That was a nice interview with Taylor. Is that site run by Gray Charles?
Jpfan, that was the rumor originally, but no, C2what isn’t run by Gray Charles.
Thanks for posting that, pop. Really enjoyable and nice to read Gray again.
Water under the bridge and all but the part of the interview where Taylor talks about focusing on one thing at a time might be the reason his album came out after Daughtry and Pickler. AI won’t make that mistake again.
John Fogerty’s new album “Revival” hit the shelves today. All I can say is WOW.
I enjoyed Taylor’s last album, but am sooooooo looking forward to the acoustic & organic Taylor, he says we’ll get next time around.
“I pull up to the non-descript hotel near the Bradley Airport in Hartford, Connecticut and see Taylor and the band unloading their bags from two rented Dodge Caravans. The day before they had spent an hour on the side of the road somewhere in the Poconos changing a flat on the same van. Gone are the months of tooling from venue to venue in the relative luxury of the tour bus as the band plays a few final shows across the country.”
How depressing
I don’t look @ it as depressing, I look @ it keeping him grounded. These one-off dates have no need to spend the mucho bucks on the bus and that will make way to put $$ into bigger & better things.
He’ll be back on the luxury bus next tour around.
I was just browsing the music section at Amazon.com and LOVE what I’m seeing…..The BOSS is #1, John Fogerty is #3, and Mark Knopler is #5. Throw in Annie Lennox at #2 and Joni Mitchell at #7 and you’ve got the makings of a great Top 10.
