Interesting mention of the iTunes application and RCA as well from a market point of view. It's a business paper so the marketing and distribution would be of interest for their readers. Good overall article on David Cook, too. Leads me to believe that talks are already in the works for global marketing of DCTR and David Cook. Apparently he's got a huge following in the Phillipines. Always Be My Baby was the song of the year for some radio stations. I know Archie's going to Asia in February. Maybe Cook will head over there, too. Would a track like that even see the light of day in a day when record companies care more about singles than albums? Music will suffer immensely as a result if the overarching standard for an album's song inclusion is the song's ability to be played in rotation on Z-100. Ken Barnes is leaving Idol Chatter. Sigh. I enjoyed reading his blogs and reviews (and of course, his great numbers).

Somehow, I’m not surprised. He always seemed a little too cool for the room. A deadly attitude if your going to cover something as cheesy as Idol. LOL.

Other than his numbers and his reviews, his Idol coverage consisted mostly of posting press releases that came across his desk. I never got the feeling that he enjoyed it very much.

The numbers coverage, however was invaluable. It sounds like he’s going to cover that somewhat somewhere else, but not as extensively. That’s too bad.
