I failed to properly celebrate National Poetry Day earlier this week, because I was too busy watching reality television. But hey, in a certain sense, this week’s Ralit is a love poem: To Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s meticulously groomed chest and Natalie Coughlin’s rippling back on Dancing With the Stars. To Tyra Banks, Mr. Jay, and a giant rainbow snail on America’s Next Top Model (please use bunky French accent when saying show title). To the Other Brother of So You Think You Can Dance. To Logan’s unfortunate pant cuffs on Project Runway. And to Samantha Harris, for making everything just a little more beautifully uncomfortable. This one goes out to you.

Kelly Clarkson fills Taj Arena with energy in 85-minute set

This much was clear 30 seconds into Kelly Clarkson’s Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort concert Saturday night, as the opening verse of “All I Ever Wanted” had a capacity crowd on its feet.
In the second week of her fall tour in support of her fourth album, “All I Ever Wanted,” Clarkson wowed an all-ages crowd with a hard-charging set of favorites and covers that show the singer is at the peak of her pop powers, each song punctuated by an anything-but-low roar from her adoring fans.

American Idol Finalist Plays In South Portland
SOUTH PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER) — A former American Idol finalist put on a little show in South Portland Saturday.
Jason Castro, who finished 4th in Idol’s 7th season, came to Day’s Jewelers to promote the company’s exotic gem show. Castro’s self-titled album is scheduled to be released early next year, but the small crowd at Day’s got to hear his music for free, alongside the jewelry’s store’s gemstones.
Castro didn’t spend much time in Maine, but he tried to take in the sights. Castro said his life has completely changed since he left American Idol. And he still feels like he’s living a dream.
Kellie Pickler: ‘I don’t care if I’m on pop stations’
Kellie Pickler isn’t going to alter her country sound so that it’s more pop friendly and she isn’t going to release dance remixes to her songs to get more mainstream radio play.
She could — but she won’t.
‘I love country — that’s what I grew up listening to,’ said Pickler before opening for Taylor Swift at the Allstate Arena on Friday. ‘As long as I’m played on country radio, I don’t care if any other stations play my music or not. If they want to play my music, that’s fine. But I’m not changing it for them.
‘I don’t care if I’m on pop stations.’
Ex ‘Idol’ coming to Rialto
JOLIET — Former 2002 “American Idol” top 10 finalist Jim Verraros has agreed to be a celebrity judge for the Rialto Square Theatre’s Rialto Idol singing competition on Nov. 28. sponsored by Midwest Generation.
All ages are welcome to participate in Rialto Idol but the competition is limited to individuals only.
X Factor finalists face public vote
The Take That star-turned-soloist, who has sold 55 million records, is acting as mentor to the wannabe pop stars as they face the public vote for the first time this week.
The 35-year-old singer will perform his comeback single Bodies on the ITV1 show tonight.
Last night, the high-profile judges were each championing the acts which they have spent the last two weeks mentoring, but Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole clashed over the live performance by girl group Kandy Rain, whose past as pole dancers hangs over them.
‘Glee’ yellow dresses: Costume designer Lou Eyrich tells all
After EW’s Style Hunter received more emails than we could count about the yellow dresses from this week’s episode of Glee, we thought we’d go straight to the source, Glee’s costumer designer, Lou Eyrich, for the answer. Eyrich talked to us about the outfits for the ‘Halo’ /’ Walking on Sunshine’ mash up, her go-to shops for the show, and who her favorite character is to dress.
(By the way, to answer the many questions we got about Rachel and Quinn’s dresses: Rachel’s is by Shoshanna and Quinn’s is by Calvin Klein, but sadly, neither is available anymore.)

LOL! I love this band.
And I love, love, love the videos that are coming out from this show. I’ve been completely swamped with work lately with no time for fun, so this was quite a nice reward and way to get back into the swing of things.
tierbee I’m so happy for you that you had such an awesome show! You must be floating right now. Was it you he was talking to when he recognized someone in the audience who had walked into the restaurant while he was eating dinner?

Ha, no, I wish! I was sortof around the corner from them once I sat down to eat. I didn’t get to really watch him eat his grilled cheese and chili. Though I must say, I ordered grilled cheese (sans chili) and it was frickin’ good. If I ever go back to the Nook (and smile while I do it), I’m getting me some more grilled cheese.
Oh, the guy who brought us our menus (owner? waiter? dunno!) told us not to drool… I guess we were obvious?!
I love the voice he said that in – cracked me up. He was very chatty and funny, loved it.

Everything I read about Cook confirms to me that he’s a really awesome, humorous, grounded guy. Including this banter.
So Rivers Cuomo from Wheezer Tweeted back about Greg Wells Tweet complimenting Adam. I can’t see Wheezer and Adam working together, so maybe just in the studio like Brian May, Meatloaf and was also impressed? hmmm
But that being Wheezer did do some Lady GaGa Wheezer live medley with Lady GaGa Poker Face, no, f’reals The confluence of fandoms at this point is fairly astounding. I don’t see how Wheezer and Adam Lambert could ever do anything musically together, but whatever. My hands are offically thrown up.
Oh and I’m so excited for suebrody and tierbee seeing David Cook before their shows of seeing David Cook where he rocked in his show. So cool! I’m so happy for both of you. Excellent!

Again, I don’t expect that Rivers is actually working with Adam, but Greg is and is impressed, always nice. And Rivers, in whatever capacity or fandom via studio, also was, so also cool.
Sorry, still trying to wrap my brain around a Wheezer/Adam song and well synapes are blowing. Less after watching the clips of Wheezer doing that medley, but still.

Anyhew, Kris Tweeted “We are almost done with the album, or at least my part. Got a couple more songs to finish and we will be good. Really exciting stuff!”
Ahhh. Cool to see that as per my specculations regading a possible drop date for finishing recording by Oct. 15th and possibly some time after to finish up cleaing up the songs and mixing it. So that it’s good enough not to late after Oct. 15th to be able to start making the actual CDs, start working on the album art, promos, etc.
But yeah, Kris is still recording a couple of songs? Meaning more than one? Dude, you have like 4 days left and you’re “almost done” with a few songs? ugh! Between Kris and Adam I’m going to like loose every bit of enamel on my teeth and semblence of sanity.
LOL Truthiness Allison would be horrified at the extra “h” in her fave band’s name, Weezer. (And the only reason I know is I looked them up back when Allison first talked about them.)
Hehe, I am also awake Thruthiness, though it is late morning here. Nice to hear Kris is working hard in the studio. I get the impression that he’d much rather be out playing live though! Are we sure he only has this week for the final recording?
Kris has said in past interviews that the album had to be done by Oct. 15th. It sounds like it will be, too.
And I hope people aren’t seriously tweeting him about not showing enough enthusiasm. That’s just rude. Just because he isn’t tweeting in capslock and multiple exclamation points doesn’t mean he’s not excited about how things are going. He’s SAID multiple times how happy and excited he is — and just the other day he tweeted about how much he loves his job.
Just got back from Cassidy Haley’s show at the Viper Room. Cheeks was there, but no sign of Adam. Went with a couple of people from this board (adamland, dietcoke) and another person who posts over on IDF board and had a fun time. Cassidy was in fine form (and looked totally hot). Cheeks looked like he was having a good time!
Hellz yeah we had a fun time. Cassidy is a sweet guy and is totally hawt and gorgeous up close, and sounded good. Cheeks did seem like he had a good time, talked to him longer than I did Cassidy, he’s also sweet and friendly. And the boi can dance!
Yeah, agree with this. I think Kris just has a very dry sense of humor and that’s just the way he is. It is good that we’re not all the same.
Was Cassidy wearing a shirt this time?
When I talked to him he had a tee shirt on (and jeans of course).
When he went on stage he had a hooded, belted jacked with a shirt underneath.
After another song, nope no shirt.
It looks as if he upped his game, but honestly some peeps in this world would rather have refreshing honesty than PR junk.

Assuming he is not in Minneapolis, he must be at Sunset Sound Recorders (the only California location used for recording “Purple Rain”). Lots of big names have recorded there including McCartney and Dylan (two of his faves). Interesting that he mentions Prince. Is the song got a Prince-vibe or perhaps it’s just the exact studio that he recorded in.
LOL. That’s just such an amusing turn of phrase and I don’t even know who Snuggie is, but I’m invisioning a stuffed animal or a Rapper.
Or maybe Kris is wearing a purple plaid shirt?!

Something tells me if it was Aimee’s song, she would have heard by now. But who knows? I still expect one of her songs to make the album at least, and maybe even become a single, just possibly not the LEAD single (esp if they’re going dance-pop route for the first single, I’m thinking she wrote something more ballady.)

Didn’t she say it was a WLL inspired song? I am also on the train that she is not getting the lead single if they are going in the dance-pop direction. Should be either a song produced by redone, max martin or claude kelly.

Well, if this is true, Drake sounds needy and possessive to me. This wouldn’t be the first time that he’s been ‘upset’ when out with Adam. Adam doesn’t need this in his life right now. He had a night off to go out and have a bit of fun and Drake pulls another hissy fit? Ugh.

If you believe Radar Online, I’ve got some real estate I’d like to sell you. They are really a worse gossip rag that TMZ. I’m sure this didn’t happen the way it is insinuated. This is the kind of stuff that celebrities have to get used too. They know this kind of headline attracts readers. Adam seems happy with his choice of Drake. Someone not in the public eye normally, is better for him than someone who loves the spotlight IMO.
