Another Gay Aiken Controversy - A Top Story This Week
Before we get to the reposting for this story a not so quick note. Anytime we run ANYTHING on Clay the nuts come out of the woodwork with propaganda and conspiracy theories either for or against him. Both ask us to print such stories and we reject almost all due to the questionable sources………
… So you can send us hate mail about the stories but the only good it really does is provide us with entertainment with how hysterical some are. And by all means if you have a positive newsworthy story send it in we will be happy to report on it. (a story about an idiot that has nothing better to do but hate Aiken and his turning up at a concert and Clay ignoring him doesn’t really qualify). And for those that emailed us asking what difference would it make to Christians if Clay is gay or not, why are you asking us? Take a few minutes and go talk to a local pastor or priest and ask them why most Christians frown upon homosexuality. That’s not for us to answer. Now on with the silly Clay story from this past week:

‘American Idol’ alum films video at local racetrack
…Track owner John Ballance said he was contacted by a member of the production crew several days before the shoot, who asked him to set aside a day for Covington to shoot the video.
“He told me they usually don’t go too far (from Nashville) to do shoots, but they had been talking to people who knew about motocross, and that this was one of the most aesthetic, prettier tracks around,” Ballance said.
Covington, director Trey Fanjoy and a slew of motocross riders and other extras spent a 12-hour day at the winding, hilly dirt track to shoot the video.
The track hosted a race on Sept. 22-23, and some of the local riders stuck around to perform stunts for the video….
Kelly Clarkson launches her My December tour
….The tour follows a triumphant trip to Australia where she played sold-out performances in Melbourne and Sydney, appeared on three of Australia TV’s most popular programs –”The Footy Show finale,” “Sunrise” and “Australia Idol” — and attended a gold-plaque presentation for Australian sales of her album, “My December.”
On Wednesday, the Grammy Award-winning singer took the stage at The Turning Point Casino in Verona….

PADDY the nomadic gnome has returned home to Rustington after a mystery six months’ absence.
Paddy went missing from Eileen and Alan Clark’s garden, at Broadmark Lane, Rustington, in March. Since then he has chartered a yacht, had a holiday in a Dorset caravan and been fishing.
Eileen said: “He was quite an ugly gnome, in our front garden, and then he went missing. A couple of weeks later we started getting letters and photos from him! He has been fishing, done some gardening and we had one picture of him on holiday in a caravan in Dorset.
“Eventually he said he would be home soon, that he had met a woman and they were on their honeymoon!” ….

LOL Lisa B. There was a similar story over here except the gnome didn’t send letters and photos. He returned after being missing with a travel journal that was filled with pictures and entries about his adventures.
This reminds me, I’d best get back on the IDOL GNOME PROJECT.
Melinda Doolittle to Host 2007 ‘Christmas at Belmont’
In a media gathering Thursday morning on the fourth floor of Belmont’s Inman Center, College of Visual and Performing Arts Dean Cynthia Curtis and alumna Melinda Doolittle (’99) jointly announced that Melinda will host the 2007 “Christmas at Belmont” concert, which will be taped live next month. The special will air nationally on PBS Mon., Dec. 24, at 10 p.m. EST after its local premiere on Nashville Public Television (NPT) Thurs., Dec. 20, at 8 p.m. CST. Doolittle was a top finalist on the sixth season of “American Idol,” where she won the hearts and votes of millions of Americans and gathered legions of devoted fans.

Hey everyone, I figure I’d post in this thread hoping some people would read this. You may or may not know that Phil Stacey has been very involved with charity/benefit work, doing benefit concerts (and more to come in the future) and donating a lot of money. So, inspired by that, I’ve started ‘Phans for a Cause’. In talking with Phil’s dad over the summer, we decided (and Phil had input too) that I would start this project to donate money to the Jimmy Fund. The Jimmy Fund is a clinic for kids (and some adults) who are battling cancer. It’s very well known around New Enlgand and around the country by kids who are battling this terrible disease. So we’re raising money to donate to research for cures for pediatric cancers. All the information is on the myspace and the just-launched website. We’ll be selling silicone bracelets that say Phans for a Cure for $3 as well as accepting monetary donations. I understand that some people can’t afford to donate but just getting the word out there would help just as much. Instead of selling records, they will be selling the band’s t-shirts and tickets, pocketing the lion’s share of the profits, just like they do with CDs today. Does this sound unlikely? It shouldn’t. SONY/BMG and Warner Music Group are already considering signing artists to “all inclusive” as a strategy to adapt to a possible future where people no longer buy recorded music. This is their Plan B.
