Rep: ‘No Truth’ To Jennifer Hudson Inauguration Rumors
Jennifer Hudson will not be singing at Barack Obama’s inauguration on January 20, despite reports to the contrary, her rep told Access Hollywood.
“There is no truth to this,†the rep said.
The New York Post reported on Wednesday that Jennifer was in talks to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner†at the ceremony, but the rep told Access that the star has no plans to participate in any inaugural activities.
In August, Jennifer sang the national anthem the night Barack accepted the Democratic presidential nomination at the party’s national convention.
The Oscar winner hasn’t hit the stage since the murders of her mother, brother and nephew in Chicago in October 2008.

The Dancing With the Stars pros took the whole ringing in the New Year literally, getting engaged just before the calendar flipped to Jan. 1, a source close to the couple confirms to E! News. Chmerkovsky sealed the deal with a Harry Winston number.
No official comment so far from the hoofers’ respective camps.

Frenchie Davis Visits the Suncoast and Hands Out Some Free Tickets
A Broadway entertainer from the Broadway show, Ain’t Misbehavin’, stopped by a Sarasota Neighborhood Saturday.
Between rehearsals of the 30th anniversary national tour of the musical review, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Frenchie Davis, an American Idol semi-finalist in 2003, stopped by the Newtown Redevelopment Office in Sarasota to help hand out 100 free tickets to one of the shows.
The Suncoast group, “Greatness Beyond Measures,” welcomed the musical star to Newtown with a song from the heart as Frenchie helped pass out the free tickets to Sunday’s Ain’t Misbehavin’ show.
It’s part of a promotion to give the Newtown community an opportunity to get to know the Van Wezel and experience the programs that are offered.
Paula Abdul, Cheerleading Coach
Paula Abdul’s one-shot cheerleading competition show on MTV, “RAH! Paula Abudul’s Cheerleading Bowl,” which is like Randy Jackson’s dance show, except the costumes are all retro and square and there is a mat on the floor.
Abdul’s role is host and mentor, the Tim Gunn of the pom-pom set. She talks to the team, collected from random colleges, about their timing and counting off from her experience as a choreographer and a former Laker Girl.
She hopes they all do well, but she sort of stacks the deck. As producer she’s hired a group of judges that are of her school of praise and encouragement and hardly a smidgen of criticism - even when some cheerleaders drop out of their complicated feet on shoulders double decker displays. “You made the best of it and that’s what counts,” one of them said hopefully to a group who lost two women who lost balance and tumbled off the shoulders of guys carrying them.

BRITAIN’S Got Talent boss Simon Cowell snubbed judge Amanda Holden’s wedding — spoiling a big magazine deal.
Celeb mag OK! paid a fortune for exclusive rights to publish photos of the nuptials, thinking Simon would be the star attraction.
But he refused to cut short a holiday in Barbados, leaving Piers Morgan the only co-star at the do.
Amanda, 37, wed music executive Chris Hughes, 33, at posh Babington House, Somerset, just before Christmas.
A source said OK! was “desperate†for Simon to be there.

With his reputation for unthinkingly dashing the hopes of any X Factor contestant who fails to meet his high standards Simon Cowell isn’t known for his cuddly side.
But at a charity auction yesterday the music maestro showed he does have a big heart - and a love of cute fluffy animals.
Cowell spent $4,400 on an old photo of the Queen and Prince Philip to help out an animal shelter.
Casually dressed Cowell, who was cheered on by grinning ex-lover Sinitta, even posed for a photo with a small puppy.
Don’t underestimate Cat Deeley
You’d have to be an awful curmudgeon to dislike Cat Deeley. If you’ve turned on British TV almost any time in the past decade — and in the past couple of years American TV too, where she is now a huge star — you’ve been smacked across the chops by the big blonde Brummie charm machine. And, honestly, it’s no different in person. As soon as she blows into the lobby of the Beverly Hills hotel, Deeley’s a whirlwind of gushing excitement. She’s 120-proof blonde niceness with bows and ribbons and chocolate icing and very, very long legs.
RE: Jennifer — hope she gets it together soon. I know it’s taking time to heal, I lost a mother some decades ago and it’s a deep hurt, but she has to move on.
Paula’s Stalker — I cannot believe the producers are still playing that card to get viewers and laughs at Paula’s expense! Is this guy just looking for his 15 minutes? He must be stopped.
Losing a mother is one thing (I haven’t done that yet, thank God). Losing a mother, brother and nephew in a horribly gruesome way, is totally another I have to think. We do expect to lose our parents…tis how life is supposed to work. I can’t think any of us expect to go through what Jennifer has. I’m sure Jennifer will move on when she’s ready. I can’t determine when that’s supposed to be but it will be when it is.
To bad about Jennifer, I hope she takes her time to made peace with the situation….

I’m going to dash Simon’s bad guy image here…he actually donates a huge amount to charity, most of it is never heard about by the public.
I was disgusted when I saw this initially. Then I clicked on the link MJ provided and this guy is truly just a comedian. His comments on the whole stalker thing seemed very sincere. I still don’t like the idea of him taking the spot of a potential talent but he seems like an okay guy just looking for a break.

I have mixed feelings regarding the stalker guy. I, too, believe he is sincere in his remarks and is simply a comedian/singer wanting to catch a break. In the clip I watched from that page, he really does seem to be a nice guy. However, the Paula Goodspeed thing is still pretty fresh in everyone’s mind, so it might be too early for him to be in the mix. Stalking is a very serious thing. His being on could unnerve many viewers. He’d be better off to wait (but he does appear to be getting 30ish, so this may be his last chance). A real toss up call where he is concerned, but they should think long and hard before putting him through.
It is going to take alot of time for Jennifer to heal. I say this because I lost my mother a few months back along with 6 other family/friend’s in less than 12 months. It’s tough.
I don’t know what to think about the stalker guy, even cracking jokes about it. I honestly feel it should not be encouarged. Anyone remember Rebecca Schaeffer? Nuff said, shame on ya AI.
I love AI so much I have to remember it is first and foremost a reality show. They make more money off of commercials & being #1 then they do the *idol’s* they produce. The sad fact is the idol’s come last.

This is an excellent point. I agree. I hope I didn’t imply that I don’t think stalking is a serious thing. I definitely do. I just don’t think this guy is unbalanced. But after reading both Judy’s and Lisa’s take on it, I think it’s best that AI not show him this year.
Update Taylor Hicks did sing the NA for the vikings/Eagles game just did not show it surprised not really. It’s football so pregame and commercials(money) I guess maybe it might be on youtube for those interested. ***hint***

I cannot imagine what Jenifer is going through. I think maybe everyone should just back off and let her be the one to decide when she comes back. I know that there are people who only see the money she might be losing, or that she finally got her recording career started, but she lost almost her entire nuclear family in one day. This is more than grief. She will make it through, but instead of being Jen the star, she’s not feeling that right now.
Hoodathunk, there is the tabloid/teevee Simon, then there is the real Simon who is a softie, and the Simon who remains friends with every women he has ever dated. Can’t be too much of a schmuck when your exes still adore you. I love Simon and see through all of his trickery. He’s a decent guy.
I would not presume to say when Jennifer (or anyone) should get over something so horrific as what happened to her family. It goes far beyond losing a mother or any one family member to natural causes. We also don’t know that she was even asked to sing the inauguration. Probably everyone assumes she needs more time to heal.
Congratulations to Karina and Max! What a beautiful couple. They used to skate together as pros, I think, maybe they still do. Mario turned out to be a shallow cheating jerk. I’m happy for Karina and Max and wish them the best.
