It’s Time To Jam
NewSong, MercyMe, sibling rock trio BarlowGirl, Skillet, and former “American Idol” contestant Mandisa are all signed on for the 2008 outing of the Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, Christian music’s largest annual music tour……
Clarkson more idle than ‘Idol’
The concise 75-minute set pleased fans, but Kelly Clarkson was more detached and distant as the night went on.
First “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson could have coasted on her stature, turning out broadly popular mainstream pop for decades.
Instead, her latest album, “My December,” is born of a genuinely dark phase. America’s sweetheart defied big-name producers — and her record label president — to write her own songs for a CD that was less about instant success and more true to her angry, desperate feelings at the time. It didn’t work because the undistinctive rockers downplayed her sterling voice and overshadowed the more winning acoustic soul tunes………..
Yesterday, the Spice Girls; tomorrow, the planet
Svengali Simon Fuller has won plaudits for trying to steer Formula 1 in a new direction, writes James Robinson
Pop promoter, friend and mentor to the Beckhams, creator of American Idol, and, in tabloid parlance, a ‘management Svengali’, 47-year-old Simon Fuller has had a hand in some the most successful cultural phenomena of modern times. He is the man behind the Spice Girls and much more besides.
Fuller started out in the music industry, and sold 19 Entertainment, which he founded as a management company in the 1980s, to US group CKX for £100m two years ago, cementing his position as one of the most powerful figures in the world of entertainment and winning industry accolades aplenty.
But last week he was recognised for a very different achievement, picking up a gong at the Green Awards for the best campaign to promote environmental issues……..
Climbing and stumbling to the top
…STEP: Down. “American Idol” finalist Bo Bice released an album exclusively at Wal-Mart, if that tells you anything about exclusive deals. (But then, you can only buy The Eagles’ new album at Wal-Mart, too.)…..
What to watch for at the CMA’s
The Country Music Association’s awards show will air live at 8 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 7 on WOLO-25, cable channel 5.
….THE HORIZON AWARD — for country’s newcomer of the year — always is a wide contest. The nominees are Jason Aldean, Rodney Atkins, Little Big Town, Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift (who will perform with Brad Paisley Nov. 10 at the North Charleston Coliseum). No, “American Idol” fans, you can’t vote for Pickler….
….CARRIE UNDERWOOD is up for an award, and so is Kellie Pickler. Bucky Covington is a presenter. Is there any doubt what genre of work the next batch of “Idol” singers should consider?….
Pineapple Festival just as sweet after 20 years

So I was looking at Ryan Tedder’s myspace yesterday and two things jumped out at me:
plus:
& …Happy birthday Sarah! I brought you some yummy CAKE!! ;)
Thank you, Star! :) That Cake is good by the Ryan Tedder news makes me even happier.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SARAH!
Go Colts against the Pats today (Sarah’s bday wish).
Carrie Underwood is everywhere, she’s everywhere! :) In our little (Texas) city of 100,000, above the logo of our daily newspaper was a black and white picture of Carrie, guiding us to her ’story’ - a HUGE full color picture of her(covered all but 1 column of the upper 3/4 entertainment page; the rest of that 3/4 page was the corresponding story of her success.)
Happy Birthday sweet Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Oh goody. :)
Happy Birthday Sarah!

I checked and didn’t see this one posted. It’s a nice read - very interesting what he said about the label.
I saw Elliott this weekend and he just gets better and better. Interestingly, both of the other acts that were with him made a point of telling the audience what a talented and super nice guy Elliott was. I’m sure all entertainers have their off days but I think Elliott really is pretty much like he was on AI - sweet, humble and most definitely talented.
((((Sarah))))
So sorry about the Colts today. It looked like they were going to pull it off for you. Hope you had a giid birthday anyway, hon.
Thanks for the link to the Elliott interview, Lu. That really was a great read.
Glad that you got to see Elliott in concert again. Did you get to talk with him again?
Happy Birthday, Sarah!
I’m sorry about the Colts also because I wanted NE to go down.
Happy Birthday, Sarah! Sorry about the Colts. :(
Lu, to respond to your question from last night, I haven’t heard Blake on my local radio station, but he’s doing okay on the Mediabase chart. His single goes for adds on Nov. 20. Hopefully, it’ll get a good push then. I love the song Josh wrote for him. It’s “Know My Name.” You can hear it over at Rickey.org.
NOLA, if you’re reading, congrats to your Tigers. Tough loss for Bama, though. :(
I saw him briefly at the merchandise table. He was just as sweet as ever.
So, I was talking to myself in chat. We agreed with myself.
Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH !!!!
and, more importantly and as I told myself in chat — Taylor is still not gay! Meet a guy the other day, he told me that Taylor is living off of freebies. Free clothes, free hotels, free food, free booze, free women. ya hoo!
(((Rueben))) (((Bo)))
Hi mj, lisab, and all those ghosts in chat!
Happy Birthday Sarah.
LOL Thank you Lisa. That’s cute. :)
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! It *was* a bit of a deflated end to a great weekend, I’m not gonna lie… the Colts just blew it. I could write a dissertation on what they should have done in that game, but to no avail. *sigh*
BUT, it was a good weekend nonetheless, and I still have a couple of celebrations to go this week! :)
