Rights Owner of Elvis, ‘Idol’ Scuttles Plan to Go Private
CKX Inc., which licenses the rights to images of Elvis Presley and other celebrities, said that a $1.33 billion plan to go private has fallen through because of “extraordinary” economic conditions.
Formed in 2004, CKX has built a rights portfolio related to the images and creative output of public figures including Muhammad Ali and David and Victoria Beckham.
As a result of its 2005 acquisition of London-based 19 Entertainment Ltd., CKX also owns the “American Idol” TV and music franchise and its international counterparts.
In a filing Monday with the the Securities and Exchange Commission, Messrs. Sillerman and Fuller said they intend to continue pursuing the acquisition using alternative financing options.

Appeals court allows suit against Clay Aiken
RALEIGH à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ The N.C. Court of Appeals has ruled that a woman who wrote an unauthorized biography about Clay Aiken can proceed with a battery lawsuit against him.
à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Batteryà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ is defined as unwanted touching. The woman, Jeannie Holleman of Wake County, claimed that one of Aikenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s bodyguards à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ at Aikenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s direction à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ committed battery on her when he twice pulled her out of a chair during an Aiken event in Hawaii in 2005.
The same Appeals Court ruling, however, said a lower court was correct to dismiss numerous other claims the woman filed against Aiken, his mother, a friend of Aikenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s family, and companies and others connected to him.
These include libel claims against Aikenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s mother for publicly disavowing Hollemanà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s book, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Out of the Blue: à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Clayà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ It Forward.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

This is what friends are for. For those times when Elle magazine calls for a quote, and they say things like, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s already proved she can sing her ass off. She can sell records. She can write. She can do it all. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“There is someone I do support, but I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t support publicly,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ gossip Web site Just Jared quotes Underwood as telling TV Guide.
à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“I lose all respect for celebrities when they back a candidate,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ she said. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s saying that the American public isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t smart enough to make their own decisions.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

Julianne Hough: “You Don’t Have to Ignore Pain”
Julianne Hough would love to just get up and dance. Alas, she still has a bit of recovering to do, from a condition that she says was much more serious than anyone previously thought.
The two-time Dancing With the Stars winner, who underwent surgery last week for appendicitis and complications from endometriosis, tells E! News that she hopes her experience sends a message to women who might be too nervous or embarrassed to seek help if they feel something might be wrong with them.

I was reading the article about DC on Kansis City.com. I know people have different tastes in music and stuff, but Nickelback lite has got to be my favorite ‘insult’. I am sure DC would be happy to have the ‘lite’ version of their fame
And I like Nickelback. I must be a loser!

ETA:
No ofense for Mr. Cook, but I do love their sarcasm…
What does this make, the 50th Jingle Ball? lol. Actually, I think it’s #10–but there is something like 7 days in a row that he’s doing one of these concerts.
LOL. No, not quite. Look at the schedule again more closely. The most he will be doing is four shows in a row on consecutive days. But, yeah, I think it’s still going to be a very demanding schedule.
Dec. 3, 7, 9, 11-12, 14-17
However, if he ends up doing the Jingle Ball in Florida on the 13th, then you would be right. That would be crazy!
The Salt Lake Tribune just posted an article about Archie:

And right next to their big ad…..i see Crush is #5 on the Top 20 On Demand!!!
Pics of Archie at rehersal!!!!!
