David Archuleta is the latest American Idol alum to show off his patriotic chops when he sings the National Anthem at the NFL Pro Bowl on Sunday.

In addition to his performing at the Pro Bowl on Sunday, KGBM-9 News in Hawaii reports that…

David Archuleta from American Idol fame will be at the FREE NFL Ohana Day this Saturday at Aloha Stadium during the Pro Bowl Players’ only Open Practice.

The Ohana Day event on Saturday, Feb. 7 is from 9 to 12 pm (noon) and is a free event for all ages. It is unclear what his function will be at the event. I suspect that he will provide some of the musical entertainment and maybe do a meet and greet.

I like the lumberjack shirts. But DCà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s so weird with the phases he goes through with clothes. He doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t really switch it upà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s distinct phases only: he kept to mostly blazers or dark button downs for the post-Idol media blitz, went to colorful v-necks during the AI tour, then it was the business-casual vest-tie combo for the album release blitz, and now ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s the lumberjack shirt look. Does he throw out old clothes after heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s done with a phase or is it just because heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s living out of a suitcase? Anyway, I hated the v-necks, but otherwise, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s all good.

Anyone else wondering about the frequent use of ADAM lately? Two times on Idol, and now this latest Vlog. I don’t think it’s the next single or anything, but it’s interesting.

Aw, about Permanent.

When he mentioned singing “Permanent” in December and how the audiences received it, my heart melted because I was in the audience the first time he sang it live.

Kelly Clarkson just dominates and Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m surprised Time of My Life isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t on there and Taylorà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s coronation song is.

I was talking to some people about how Fred is calculating his list–I guess somebody has to go pick up one of his books to read the explanation. lol. My guess is that he’s simply basing it off of historical positions of the songs on the Hot 100. Not only their peak but how many weeks they spent at various positions. If a song spent more time at a higher position it’ll obviously be higher up on the list. And I suspect that once a song goes recurrent it can’t move up in points because it gets removed from the Hot 100. But, again, somebody would have to seek out one of Fred’s books to really know what he’s doing.

TOML spent a couple weeks in the top 10 on the Hot 100, its first at #3, but if I recall it fell shortly thereafter and didn’t spend a whole lot of time at higher positions on the Hot 100 (I was just informed it spent 9 weeks in the top 40). Taylor’s single reached #1 (which probably counts for more points under Fred’s system) and simply sold more. TOML had better airplay (although primarily in the smallest format, AC, which doesn’t count for much on the Hot 100), but it couldn’t make up for DIMYP’s sales or initial Hot 100 position.

That chart really does show what a power Kelly’s second album was. Breakaway was huge. Her first album’s success is barely comparable. She really bucked the trend of the second album slump.

I’m happy and a little surprised that Crush wound up at #13 (it’ll get bumped down to #14 soon by MLWSWY, but I’m not complaining lol). It spent one week in the top 10 at #2, several weeks in the 20s and a few weeks in the teens. It overstayed its 20 weeks by 4 weeks I believe, so it had more time on the Hot 100 than some others did. I’m so pleased that all 3 of Jordin’s singles are up there as well, although OSAAT will likely get kicked off that list eventually. Still, Jordin has done so well for herself.

I’m sure they will. It only benefits AI to promote the AI Experience on WDW. I wonder who’s performing out of all those attending. Plus – Cook and Carrie! I want to see a picture of them together, knowing they’re friends and all.

More than 20 American Idol luminaries will be attending next week’s premiere of the American Idol Experience attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney officials confirm. Along with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, current winner David Cook, former winners Jordin Sparks, Taylor Hicks and Carrie Underwood, and past contestants David Archuleta, Bo Bice and Justin Guarini will participate in the invitation-only festivities Thursday, Feb. 12. (The lineup, Disney reminds us, is subject to change and expand.)

Theme-park guests that day can get a glimpse of the Idol family during a motorcade at 4:30 p.m.

Earlier that day — before the park even opens — Cook will be doing a live segment for ABC’s Good Morning America. Sorry, fans, it’s a closed set.

The American Idol Experience, which has been in a soft opening phase for a few weeks, will have its grand opening on Feb. 14. The attraction will feature competition between guests singing on stage with a daily overall winner who will score the power to go to the front of the line of auditions for Fox’s American Idol show, the most popular program on U.S. television.

I agree with the others– love reading recaps more than watching at this stage, so I’m all about it!

But thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s nothing compared to her connection to two executives at the L.A. offices of 19 Entertainment à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’  the company that produces Idol.

This is not good. Not good at all.

“When we first heard he was going to be on we were shocked,” says [Nathan] Kress, 16. “The entire week it was, ‘Is David going to be here? Is he shooting today?’ I was in the hair and makeup room, getting touched up after lunch, and I had no idea he was there,” Kress says of the day Archuleta finally arrived at the set. “I was talking to Jerry, and I called myself a huge geek or something. And I hear this voice going something like, ‘Man, I’m the king of the geeks.’ And I turned around to see and some people cleared out of the way and there he was.”

Kress says Archuleta proved himself a natural at the short scenes he stars in for the episode. “He took it all totally in stride, especially since he had no idea what his lines were until he showed up that day, and we shot it half an hour later. So in half an hour he pulled it off impressively. I think what struck me the most was this is just the most humble, down-to-earth guy. He’s just a teenager and he was just one of the guys. He was in no way a diva, like a Hollywood pretentious kind of thing.”

Hehehe!! Nathan Kress sounds like a serious fanboy. It’s funny, because in the clips of the commercials for the upcoming Archie episode, they portray his Freddie character as being indifferent or jealous of him. Haha!

It’s a “B-PLUS” not a B that was the review ranking for her new disc “Coming Back to You” on one round-up site I just read.

If you don’t like get-down retro-soul music, you may want to take a pass. That’s her genre here, and it fits her like a glove. But if you do like that genre, this disc is really a treat. I’ve been wearing out a few of the tracks myself. Here’s a sampling of other reviews.
