The article is referring to a coronation type single, not the single from the album. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s too early yet to start feeling sorry for Archie.

That isn’t how I read it. The article didn’t say coronation single. The last few years the runners up and some winners didn’t put their coronation singles on their albums, and why would they if they have a choice? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

When the sales do decline fairly quickly from lack of promo, the album will be pulled from the shelves once it drops out of the top 200 and radio will quit playing the song. If a single isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t released at least 6 weeks before the CD, you know it isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t meant to sell.

Carrie is my favorite Idol ever but even I don’t agree with Nigel’s comment that Carrie stole the show last night. The focus should be on the finalists and the current season’s Idols and, overall, this year’s finale did a good job keeping the focus on them.

My math sucks, but it looks like Dial Idol was pretty accurate? I was in chat with some peeps, and it happened just like that. Cooks lead kept getting bigger and bigger. The voting started in the mountain states–Archie country–still his lead grew. We couldn’t believe it.

Re releasing the votes: I actually didn’t see it as machinations by TPTB this time. They take a lot of heat about the fact that they hardly ever release vote totals, and add to that the fact that a perceived close race would lead to endless debates about how much Cook won by, and I think they made the right choice to release it on air. I honestly think both David’s were in a frame of mind where the actual totals meant less to them than to the fans.

Nope…I’m not gonna get all fangirly here but I will say that I just listened to his radio interview on Seacrest’s show and his speaking voice is really lovely-smooth and articulate and his laugh is really great-infectious.

I’m esp. glad about #3, because it is so beautiful and he didn’t get the judge/props he deserved for it.

Nigel you are a sicko, and I have never criticised the way he does his job, he’s a sleaze, but a brilliant sleaze. Calling out Kellie on her implants is tacky to say the least.
