and i would much rather nigel still be in charge than for simon to take over. his shows suck! if he really is taking over AI, i’m scared of what its about to become.

That TB Fox clip with Lindsay Rose and Cookie is so awesome, I’ve watched it a dozen times today and it still moves me.

Brookeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s very pretty on the mag! More make-up than Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve seen her wear. Uh, thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not meant as a à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“positive or a negativeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ 

ELIZA MAGAZINE…

Hello Friends! Hope everyone is having the happiest Friday of their lives,if not…shoot for next Friday! Just wanted to update y’all about something kinda fun, I just received this photo of my first magazine cover, from the editor of Eliza Magazine! She said it was completely cool to put it up here on myspace before it releases as next month’s Fall Issue. Eliza Magazine is a gorgeous magazine dedicated to modest high fashion as well as other interesting and relevant topics, I love it because it is SO classy. As you can imagine I was so excited when they asked me to be apart of the Fall Issue, I had a great experience on the shoot… the clothes were very fall-ish…lovely and feminine, the photographer (Angela Pierce) is amazing, and then I just recently caught up with Gretta for the interview while I’ve been on the road. Oh and by the way, not sure where it started but somehow word got out that I was under the weather, a week or so ago I was feeling a bit frazzled as that often happens on tour, but for the record I am healthy as a horse (ummm…that is a “saying” right? Where did that come from btw? Clearly horses are the picture of perfect health?!LOL… If by chance I came up with this out of nowhere, I’m sorry, but you get me, right?! You know though, thank you for your concern… you’re all a bunch of sweeties!

First listen to the song “Just stand up”. Carrie and Leona are in it. It’s a song that benefits the “STand up for Cancer” show, which Cook will appear on in a few weeks

Idol has actually started to attract some serious musicians in the past few years. I can see that changing depending on the shenanigans they have in store.

Well, he feels confident. As he says elsewhere in the article, the rest of us will just have to see if its a à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“postive or a negativeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ 

I’m not surprised he feels confident. Doesn’t he always? Even when he’s dead wrong? I think he’s got no taste whatsoever. Strip everything that’s dumb and crude out of American Idol–the horrible auditions, the manipulative backstories, toying with the contestants–and that’s America’s Got Talent in a nutshell. It’s a terrible show, and the talent is mediocre at best. But talent isn’t at the center of the show, people are advanced on who’s got the worst backstory. Awful.

I expect the changes he wants to make to include bringing more “reality show” type elements to the proceedings. Cruel twists and such. And beefing up the sob stories. None of that will improve the show, imo.

I have more to say, but I’m going to save it for the front page.

Simon, who helped create the show, is prepared to step into a larger role behind the scenes,

à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“With Nigel there it became too much of a crowd and he is a very good producer but I think now he has stepped down I probably will get more involved. I already have to be honest with you.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ 

He is undecided whether or not he will take on an executive producer credit for himself,

à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t like giving myself a title really. I feel uncomfortable if Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m on the show. Maybe I will.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ 

Though the ratings held up fairly well considering the show was in its seventh season this year, Simon admitted he got bored halfway through the show and that was the impetus for the changes ahead,

à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“I started to get bored because of the middle sections of the show because we had 24 people. By the time we hit say, show five of the live show I felt I had known them for years. The other problem was that they were so media savvy, these contestants, that they never showed us, or you, their true personality. In parts they were like robots. I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t know much more about them at the end then I did at the beginning. I think it could be just more interesting and controversial than we did last year and that will change.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ 

Though he wouldnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t give any specific details Simon did hint as to what will see change,

I think we can make the end part of the show much more exciting than we have done before and we have got some ideas which are definitely going to give the show a little bit more jeopardy than we have had in the past. You are definitely, definitely going to see a change to the show and I think it will be an improvement. I feel confident”

Has anybody seen Simon’s piece of shit show “America’s Got Talent”? Compare that to Nigel’s impeccable and highly entertaining “So You Think You Can Dance”. Nigel leaving? Simon getting a larger role? *Shudder* Worst. Possible. Scenario.

If this is true, and not a bunch of hot air from Simon, the show will definitely change for the worse. Simon is all about bringing it down to the lowest common denominator. We’ll wind up with Jerry Springer as a guest mentor.

The news comes just days after Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe announced that he’d be stepping back from his day-to-day work on Idol to concentrate on international versions of his other hit show, So You Think You Can Dance.

Chief among Cowell’s complaints was what he called the overwhelming media-savviness of this season’s contestants. “I’m not sure that they ever showed their real personalities,” he said. “They were like robots.” (Nevertheless, he praised last season’s runner-up, David Archuleta, on his recent success, calling him “the perfect pop star.”)

My Hometown
Current mood: relieved

I’m in tears as I write these words. Today was nothing but amazing. I felt at my best. I had no nerves. I was just anxious to perform and give my fiends and family the opportunity to see me on the stage again. Even though I know everyone is very understanding I still am heart broken when my niece tells me where is the teddy bear you said you were gonna give me for winning the quiet game. I never officially told her she won, but the thought of how she remembers those words and it meant something to her sadness me. I want to be a good aunty to her and it tears me apart when I see my nieces and nephews with their bright adorable eyes looking at me all sad, because Aunty has to leave. We barely spent anytime together. Wow! This hurts really bad. I love them so much and I only got to spend 11 minutes with them, which I shared with fans who were poking my side, grabbing my arm, and screaming at me to smile to pose for a picture at the aftershow.

I was holding one of my nieces and a woman handed me her child too, so we could all take a pic. Then I sat down and she came with her other child and put her on my lap as I was still holding my niece. I had people grabbing my arm, yelling to get my attention and all sorts of craziness.

As I look out the foggy window pulling into the private airport as I write ya’ll I feel bad for my family and friends who only got to see me briefly. Ouch this really hurts!

Okay off the bus now. And just like when the tour started I was sad, but when I got on the bus and we started moving I got excited. That’s what happened tonight. When I got on the jet my mood changed.

We took off already and have been air born for about 30 minutes. Man I feel so much better now. I will probably never experience being on a a Net Jet flying to Texas with nine other Idols again. So, we are all soaking it up. Eating cheese and crackers, sipping on Fiji water, eating pita bread and hummus, honey dew and veggies. We are all finger fooding it up and having a ball. The last time I was on a jet I was leaving out of Sarasota from my world wind of a visit.

At this point we are all just chilling. The David’s are absent and we are slowing approaching Houston. Oh lo. I’m Feeling a little light-headed being that I only had roughly 2 hours of sleep. But I am at peace now with leaving my family and friends back home. I’ll see them again and for now I’m enjoying this moment. It will all be over soon. Being around everyone tonight cheered me up. Oh and I’m going to send a box of goodies to my niece and nephews and that teddy bear as well. All smiles ya’ll!

It’s about 25 minutes long and he answers a bunch of fan questions. The most newsworthy stuff comes in at around 22 mins. when he talks about doing a charity concert with Fantasia to benefit an orphanage they visited in Africa.

Cook and his tiny pal: it’s almost too moving, can’t joke about it, so moving on…

Archie in the LATimes: it’s really interesting hearing him articulate how he wants to grow as a singer. I laughed when he was all “I am not a tiny Josh Groban ok thx.” Awww, and still have kidlike giddiness about making his first video.

Huge YUK of the day, re fans who see a female friend of Archie’s at an event with him, research her identity and contact info, and send her hateful messages. Young David is far too kind in saying “I guess they’re protective of me.” I doubt any of these folks read MJ’s, but in general: crazy fan, it’s one thing to have a crush on a celebrity, but sending jealous hate mail to that person’s guests and friends is psychotic. If you do this sort of thing, you should see a mental health professional. Seriously.
