Oh, Kirsten. You just HAD to remind us that sales figures are coming out today, didn’t you? Thanks a lot!

Seriously, you do an awesome job. So thanks. :-)

Wow, even though Jordin’s album is doing just okay she seems to be kicking some butt in the singles department. Looks like she is going to have a huge hit are hands with No Air. Way to go Jordin.

I know you mean pj. lol Yeah, Jordin is doing quite well in the download department. No Air has not made it to my station just yet but I’m sure it will be soon.

No Air and Jordin (Jordan) in the same sentence? Not at Nike! :dunce_tb:

    Weekly numbers from Ken Barnes:

Daughtry, Carrie get early Grammy boosts

Daughtry may have been shut out (0-for-4) at the Grammys, but the recognition may have had a positive immediate effect. Even though the show aired Sunday night, in the last hours of the Nielsen SoundScan sales week, the album jumped 24-18 on the Billboard chart thanks to a 20% sales increase, from 22,000 to 27,000 (rounded). Total is now 3.76 million.

Carrie, who won an award and performed on the show, also benefited, though more with first album Some Hearts than the newer Carnival Ride. Ride dropped from No. 30 to No. 32, although it gained 8% in sales (compared to an overall sales jump of 11% this week), from 19,000 to 21,000. Total is 1.83 million. The inexhaustible Some Hearts, on the other hand, jumped 33%, from 11,000 to 14,000, and leaped 67-56 on the chart after Carrie performed Before He Cheats live on the show in an outfit that Elysa Gardner said made her resemble the world’s sweetest dominatrix or something close to that. Total for this album is now 6.26 million.

Both Daughtry and Carrie could get further sales boosts off the Grammys next week, when there’s a full post-show week of sales to tally.

Jordin, the remaining Idol on the chart, got a boost from her Super Bowl National Anthem exposure, jumpng 53-44 with a 26% sales increase to 17,000. Her total is now 491,000.

    Off-chart Idols follow.

Apologies, by the way, for the lateness of this post — weather-related complications were the main culprit. Here are your off-chart American Idol stats:

Kelly’s Breakaway sold 3,600, same as last week, for a total of 5.96 million. My December sold 1,600, down from 1,800, for 750,000 total.

Kellie sold 2,900, down from 3,000, for a total of 715,000.

Blake also sold 2,900, same as last week, for 261,000.

Elliott racked up 1,600, same as last week, to total 492,000.

Bucky sold 1,300, down from 1,400, for 324,000.

Fantasia sold 800, down from 1,000, for 506,000.

Mandisa also sold 800, same as last week, for a total of 71,000.

Bo sold 500, same as last week, and is up to 39,000.

Katharine sold 300, same as last week, for 367,000.

Taylor sold 200, up from 100, but is still at a rounded 700,000 total.

    The 100 club features:

Clay, down from 200, total 523,000.

Ruben, same as last week, 236,000.

    Constantine, same, 24,000.

    Kimberley, same, 18,000.

    Paris, same, 21,000.

    nevermind

  8. 8 jobbix Feb 13th, 2008 at 7:00 pm

Grammy or no Grammy, Chris is still the standard-bearer for idols on the chart.

Jordin’s Superbowl boost is disappointing. I mean, 100 million viewers and two top 40 singles, what more could you ask for? But they didn’t translate into huge sales.

  9. 9 jpfan Feb 13th, 2008 at 7:15 pm

Jordin’s downloads are great. She seems to be a singles artist who sells dl but not albums. I think they shipped 900K of her album so it’ll be a challenge to sell them all. I think Jordin will equal Taylor’s numbers but not go platinum. Daughtry’s numbers are fantastic so no wonder S7 is full of “rockers.”

I think Jordin’s album sales are very steady, actually. And she continues to get really good exposure - she is a featured performer on the upcoming NAACP awards. If her album sales continue at this pace, she could be platinum by sometime this fall.
