and whoa on Jordin’s digital sales…I would have never thought she’d sell over 1 million of Tatoo and almost 1/2 million already of NA!

No. Apparently, iTunes has worked a deal with AI not to show the relative sales bars for the AI artists (those little graphs that show you which songs are the most popular). They say it is to be “fair” to the contestants, but since AI is seldom fair, I think it’s just to make sure that if somebody becomes the clear favourite, everybody won’t know (which would protect the ratings).
For those reasons, I suspect they will not be reporting sales during the competition either.

Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, More Get Grammy Sales Boost
…It all starts with the album sitting at #2, Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black, which sold more than 115,300 copies (a 368 percent increase from the previous week’s sales), thanks in no small part to the Beehived One’s five Grammy wins à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ including Record and Song of the Year à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ and her high-profile, live-via-satellite performance.
…The post-Grammy mania continued outside the top 10 too. Daughtry didn’t take home an award (going 0-4), but sales of their self-titled album still rose by more than 43 percent from the previous week, landing the “Idol” finalist and his band at #15 with about 38,200 copies sold….
Other winners and performers who experienced big-time sales bumps include Carrie Underwood (almost 30,000 copies of her Carnival Ride album, a 43 percent increase from the previous week);…

Chris, Carrie collect further Grammy boosts
Daughtry, a four-time Grammy nominee, jumped from No. 18 to 15 on the Billboard chart, according to Nielsen SoundScan, enjoying a 43% increase to 38,000 units sold, bringing his total to 3.79 million.
Both of Carrie’s albums moved up as well after her performance and Grammy win. Carnival Ride climbed 32-28, up 43% to 30,000, for a total of 1.86 million. Some Hearts was up 56-47, improving by 45% to 21,000 for a total of 6.28 million.
Jordin was not a Grammy factor, but still gained 18% to 20,000, although on the chart she fell 44-49. She passed the half-million mark this week; her total is 511,000. Next goal: to attempt to pass Taylor so that she won’t have the worst-selling Idol champ debut album.

Kellie sold 3,000, up from 2,900, to reach 718,000.
Blake surged from 2,900 to 3,500 to bring his total to 264,000.
Bucky had a big jump, from 1,300 to 2,000, for a total of 325,000.
Elliott was also up, selling 2,000, compared to 1,600, for a total of 494,000.
Mandisa went back into four figures at 1,000, up from 800, for a total of 72,000.
Fantasia collected 900, up from 800, to total 507,000.
Bo sold 600, up from 500, to reach 40,000.
Taylor sold 300, up from 200, but is still at 700,000.

Hats off to Chris Daughtry, who got shut out at the Grammys, but got the big bounce nonetheless. If I’m not mistaken, they actually outsold the winner of the best rock album of the year. Who needs a Grammy anyway? j/k.. Imagine what if they won and everything..
Taylor reached gold in three weeks. It took Jordin almost THREE months to get there. But the difference is Jordin got airplay behind her, so she will outsell Taylor in the end, maybe even go platinum. Quite a recovery, I must say.
As far as I know, they shipped 900K of Jordin’s album. She has another 400K to sell and they are doing everything possible to make that happen – including the tie ins with Chris Brown and Alicia Keyes. However, her radio friendly voice will help her at least tie Taylor’s sales. Some Hearts and Daughtry still outsell her even with all the radio play.
Taylor actually managed to do that in two weeks. LOL. But, yes, if Jordin can sustain these sales, she should pass him in about another three months.
Sorry. Nothing so far. You might try asking on Idol Chatter. Ken can has access to a SS source so he can often get those kinds of numbers.
I said it the first week the album came out, and I stick by it, that Jordin will eventually go 2x Platinum, even with how slow of a start she’s had.
