Hmm… Kellie’s song sold more than CBTM after Idol. Of course DC’s album bump was pretty much unparallelled, so we have to take that into account– nonetheless it’s just… interesting to ponder the potential implications. CBTM, I got my eye on you! If LO can reach 888K (awesome), I got much higher hopes for CBTM.
Well, Kellie sold 6K more downloads of her single, but she only sold 6K albums this week. David sold 25K albums after his appearance (and 21K albums this week, which is amazing).
He’s an album seller, nothing new there, it’s more money for the label and for him so I’m alright with that.
BTW – LO could reach 900K next week. Damn, that Platinum mark doesn’t look that far away anymore.
Dude, I am one of the ones who thought Golden Boat Anchor had NO chance of ever going platinum. I can’t believe it’s now actually in the realm of possibility.
Hmm… Platinum Boat Anchor does have a nice ring to it. LOL
I think at this point it’ll get there. Even TOML is still moving a few thousands a week, and LO might very well get a boost along with CBTM as its airplay increases. It’ll take time, but I think it’s doable.
Does anyone know what Cook’s Hot 100 Airplay is?
Cook bump: it seems like the album was selling about 7,000 or 8,000 per week right before Cook’s Idol return. It’s hard to pull apart people who may have gotten interested via the new video or the very first bit of airplay for CBTM
But wouldn’t it be accurate to measure this way: he sold 45,000 albums in the two weeks following Idol (about 30,000 over what you’d expect with zero bump) plus 59, 000 copies of CBTM over those two weeks (39,000 last week, 20,000 this, is that correct).
Just as we go along through the season and see alumni roll through, does seem like an apples to apples way to measure Idol bumpage is “increase in album sales plus increase in singles sales.”
Looking forward to Jennifer tonight, and hoping she gets a good lift as well. I loved her Grammy performance. ETA try to fix math

Cook sells more cds than Kellie because Sony Music and Simon Fuller refuse to keep Kellie’s cd in stock in stores like they do Cooks. That’s the only reason Cook or any of these other Idols are selling more cds than Kellie. Apparently these little piss ants down at Sony and American Idol can’t handle Kellie outselling all their phony Idol winners so they have to resort to raping Kellie’s sales in order to make sure it doesn’t happen.
And perhaps someone would like to explain the fuzzy math being used in regards to Kellie’s download sales. The numbers above say Kellie sold 13,000 last week and 47,000 this week of her new single yet I’m suppose to believe this is only a 257% increase in sales?????
Perhaps 357% might be more accurate. So much for expecting to get accurate sales numbers from the likes of USA Today or Nielsen charts. Tell me, do these frauds only give us totals from only one of Kellie’s cds too to lower her cd sales totals or do they give us the total for both versions that she has out. Not that I’d expect a truthful answer from these frauds who are bringing us these phony manipulated numbers.
Amazing how many sales Kellie and her music can make when music fans are finally allowed to hear it. It’s no wonder these frauds in the industry go out of their way to make sure they don’t.
