Idol Sales News - Week Ending 04/27/08

Chart queen Kirsten is on vacation with her family this week.  I’m starting the weekly Sales post.  If you all could help me out–please post numbers as you find them, and I’ll attempt to compile everything in a nice neat post at the end of the week.  The word to pay attention to here is attempt.  Heh.

I can get info on Idol ratings up or down, show formatting changes, tp period or date changes and things when I get back to work. Do you want anything like that?

Kellie sold 2,700, down from 3,300, for a total of 751,000.

Kelly’s Breakaway sold 2,100, down from 2,200, to total 5.98 million. Should be about two months away from 6 million at this pace. My December sold 800, down from 900, for a total of 763,000.

Bucky sold 1,300, down from 1,500; total 339,000.

Elliott sold 1,000, down from 1,400; total 506,000.

Moving out of four-figure territory, Randy sold 800, down considerably from 1,400, for a total of 28,000.

Bo sold 700, down from 1,000, to total 49,000.

Mandisa sold 600, same as last week, for a total of 78,000.

David Cook sold 600, down from 900, to total 1,800.

Fantasia fell to 300 from 400; total is 512,000.

Kimberley also fell to 300 from 400; total is 20,000.

Clay sold 200, same as last week, for a total of 525,000.

Katharine sold 200, same as last week, for a total of 370,000.

Repeating in the 100 club: Taylor (701,000 total), Ruben (237,000 total) and Constantine (25,000 total).

    From Idol Chatter (of course)

Not a lot of excitement in the Idol sales realm this week, although it was a lackluster week for album sales in general. Jordin stays in the top 20, falling 16-20 on the Billboard chart and selling 19,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan, a 15% drop. Her total is 697,000, meaning she’ll pass Taylor next week, becoming No. 5 on the Idol champ debut album sales list.

Daughtry slides 15-23, selling 17,000, a 23% drop, for a grand total of … 4.01 million — which is pretty grand, all right.

Carrie’s Carnival Ride is up 32-28 but falls 11% in sales to 15,000 for a total of 2.04 million. Some Hearts is also up on the chart, 69-65 but drops 13% in sales to the mid-8,000s, totaling 6.39 million.

Josh (thought I was going to forget, didn’t you?) falls 146-175, selling in the mid-3,000s, a 21% drop, for a total of 34,000.

Congratulations to Chris for the 4M milestone, a rare achievement these days. Let’s see who can blow this out of the water. :laugh_tb:
