Elliott’s the only one with an increase and his downloads jumped to 15 on itunes this morning. :)

  2. 2 squishy Jun 20th, 2007 at 9:49 am

Hopefully this will help Elliott’s CD sales as well. It is one thing to be able to sell a single download but selling an entire CD is a whole different ballgame.

That is one of the complaints of the state of the recording industry. People download singles but won’t buy the entire CD.

For not getting great radio play and for being accused of being such a horrible flop Kelly’s song Never Again is doing pretty well in downloads. As of this morning at least it was still #10 on itunes. I don’t think it has dropped out of the top 10 since it debuted.

Well, I haven’t bought Elliott’s album yet but intend to because I like virtually every song on it. I’m also looking forward to Ace’s CD which is due out in September/October. He says it’ll be a R&B album that’ll make you want to get up and dance. Some of Elliott’s songs do that for me, too.

I agree that Kelly’s “Never Again” has very good sales. Now how is it a flop again? Yay for Elliott for hanging in there.

Yay for Elliott! I doubt he’s too consumed with huge sales numbers since he’s making more than the avreage bear on the sales he does have. He even said that in one of his interviews. As a big fan of his music, I’m just happy I have a cd to listen to!

Blake and Jordin are no longer in the top 50. THERE’S a shocker….

But good for Elliott. The only Idol-related increase.

Go Elliott !! Congrats to all of the Idols !!

I found this on the independent chart..

lol…I was just about to post that.

    That’s a 5.4% increase from last week’s sales (11,046)

I find it interesting ( at the same time dismaying ) that Kimberly Locke’s album sales are going down even as her AC airplay is going up.

Just goes to show that airplay does not necessarily translate to sales ( at least not when you’re relegated to AC airplay ).

Carrie Underwood has just been certified platinum for downloads of ringtones of her song “Before He Cheats” (hmm…what do guys think when their girlfriend’s phone starts playing that ditty?)

It is only the second Country song to go platinum for ringtones (the first being the theme song from the “Dukes of Hazzard”)

“Before He Cheats” is also the best-selling digital country song in US chart history.

I don’t know how to post a lot of stuff but according to Rolling Stone Kelly Clarkso has been offered a guest spot on the Idol Tour this summer.

  14. 14 squishy Jun 20th, 2007 at 5:01 pm

Please Kelly. Do not be that dumb and take a guest spot on Season 6 Idol Tour. That would be a HUGE step down.

Very soon Chris Daughtry will pass up Clay Aiken to have the 2nd best selling debut album of any Idol contestant of any season.

So far Chris Daughtry has the best selling album in the Billboard Year 2007 (and Calendar Year too).

Are there no digi downloads of Katharine’s “Over it” last week it was downloaded 7,200 times for a total of 441,000 downloads, so is there nothing this week???

Seems odd if there is nothing, it’s really close to gold, so I’m just curious.

Thanks to whoever has the answer.

Really? Kelly has been offered a spot on the AI6 tour? Wow, that’s really strange. has that ever happened before?

IIRC Tamyra Gray started off opening for the AI3 tour IIRC, though they didn’t get that far into it before they scrapped her.

That was a foregone conclusion. :happy_tb:

So far Chris Daughtry has the best selling album in the Billboard Year 2007 (and Calendar Year too).

It was also a foregone conclusion Daughtry will win the Billboard year sales champion. Linkin Park could give Daughtry a run for his money in the race for calendar year champion. But the odds are they will not catch up at current pace.
