Rounded numbers from Ken Barnes over at Idol Chatter.
Please post numbers as you find them. Thanks.
Note: Mandisa’s total number is officially listed by SS as 9,098. Apparently, there is some quirk that means that Christian retail sales are reported in the weekly, but not the total.
Total album sales this week: 8.27 million units (up 3.8% from last week and down 9.6% from same week last year).

Yes Elliot is doing well Gooo dude!!!!!!!!!!(not dissing him on other blog worries about the can of worms about to open and being forced)
Those numbers for Kelly seem fine
Nice to see the Idols are still selling. Good for Elliott. Looks like he will break 500,000 next week.
You know I loathe rounded numbers, but…
Other big debuts this week include Virgin rock troupe the Starting Line’s “Direction” at No. 30 with 20,000, “American Idol” finalist Mandisa’s debut “True Beauty” (Sparrow/EMI) at No. 43 with 17,000, Roadrunner metal act DevilDriver’s “Last Kind Words” at No. 48 with 14,000 and rapper Keith Murray’s fifth solo set “Rap-Murr-Phobia” (Def Squad/Koch) at No. 52 with 13,000.

Good for Mandisa! Gospel albums aren’t usually chart toppers so #43 is quite good.
if numbers are always rounded, can’t the zeros be dropped? it would look much cleaner and be easier to read
Hot 100 (top 50 plus one)
13 Elliott Yamin “Wait for You” (14)
20 Daughtry “Home” (17)
21 Carrie Underwood “Before He Cheats” (19)
38 Fantasia “When I See U” (32)
67 Kelly Clarkson “Never Again” (61)
Bubbling Under
6 Daughtry “Over You” (-)
13 Carrie Underwood “So Small” (-)
Some of the numbers aren’t rounded, so I thought it would look better with them all being full numbers. I’ll give the shortened numbers a try next week and see what people think.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I like the zeroes. The numbers could be 2200 or 22000,etc. I don’t find them hard to read, really.
wonder if daughtry will have another mega hit with over you. It’s not my favorite cut on the cd but what do I know…

iTunes has a glitch. For at least the last two days “Wait For You” has been listed as not available in some places on the site. I hope that the problem is fixed soon. I’m sure that it has cut into Elliott’s sales.
A casual buyer would not do more research to find it once he/she sees that.
Incredibly bad timing since sales were going so well for the song. Not that there was a good time for this to happen.
Thanks Kirsten. If they’re all the same (i.e., all in thousands) you could state that up front, or you could say 22K instead of 22,000. Not a big issue - just a thought.
