Carrie’s numbers:
Selling 107,000, Carrie Underwood’s “Carnival Ride” (Arista Nashville) slides up 9-7 with a 20% sales bump.
Kan Barnes has the numbers:
“Carrie is actually the top Idol on this week’s chart, moving 9-7 after selling 107,000, a 20% increase. (Overall, album sales increased 18% this week.) Her total is 1.27 million.”
Jordin fell 18-24 on the chart, but increased her sales slightly (1%) to 52,000, for a three-week total of 222,000.
Daughtry may have received a boost from his four Grammy nominations, as the album rose 31% to 43,000 and moved 37-32 on the chart,.His total is 3.4 million.
Carrie’s Some Hearts is up 62-60, with a 30% increase in sales to 23,000. Total is now 6.09 million.
Elliott’s back with his debut album, returning to the chart at No. 168 with sales in the mid-7,000s. Total is now 458,000. His Christmas album drops 79-190, selling in the mid-6,000s (a 51% drop) and totaling 29,000.
Kellie’s up 20% to the mid-6,000s but drops 187-194 on the chart. Her total is 671,000.
Here’s the rest:
“Clay continues to rack up those Christmas sales: 8,000 this week for his Merry Christmas With Love album, which still sits at a rounded 1.3 million total; and another 1,000 for the All Is Well EP, bringing its total to 51,000. Meanwhile, A Thousand Different Ways sold 300, same as last week, for a 520,000 total.
Kelly was up for both of her last two albums. My December narrowly missed the chart, selling 6,000, up from 5,000, to total 713,000. Breakaway sold 5,000, up from 4,000, and is up to 5.91 million. Elliott’s numbers reflect Target sales: This week the regular CD, last week the holiday CD.
Bucky was up to around 3,000, up from 2,000, to reach 303,000 total.
Bo sold 2,200, up from 2,000, and has totaled 27,000 to date.
Fantasia remained at 1,300, inching closer to half a million (496,000 now).
Mandisa sold 1,300, up from 900, and is around 60,000 total now. Her Christmas EP sold 400, same as last week, for a 1,600 total.
Katharine jumped to 700 from 600 and has a total of 362,000.
Kimberley sold 400 of her Christmas album, same as last week, for a 1,500 total, but just 100 again for her previous album, now at 17,000.
Taylor sold 300, down from 400, and is at 698,000.
Constantine remained at 300 for a total of 22,000.
Ruben sold 100, same as last week; total is 236,000.
Paris sold 100, same as last week; total remains 20,000.”
My comments: Since album sales were up about 18% overall, Jordin just stayed consistent which is probably fine. At this rate, I think Pickler will pass Taylor’s sales in a few months. I still don’t understand why Kim Locke sells so few CDs with all that great radio play.
Correction: Taylor went platinum and I don’t see Pickler getting there. But she could hit 700K at this rate. However, there is an outside chance that Bucky could end up selling more albums than Kat. What a wacky season.
I think there is a very good chance that Kellie will eventually SELL platinum. It will take a while but this is not an impossibility. And I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Bucky outsells Kat. He has had 2 hit country singles and has at least 3 more songs that I think will prove to be radio-friendly.
Kellie will almost certainly pass Taylor in actual sales. I’m not sure if she’ll go plat, but I suppose it could happen.
congrats to Jordin! Tattoo is #10 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Elliott numbers for his debute cd are still great to watch even if your not a numbers fan like a yo yo. Think the numbers are down bounce right back up. Prediction–Elliots cd will go to 10 thousand but not below 5 thousand. It will stay in that range for awhile .
