The big news in the rags this week is the break-up of Carrie Underwood and Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford. I barely knew they were dating. The mags breathlessly quote “sources” from both camps. Their busy schedules kept them apart! Carrie was needy! Chace likes the ladies! In US, there’s even a side bar that addresses “Those Gay Rumors.” About Chace, that is. Heh. Can’t cover a pretty boy in Hollywood without covering the gay rumors.
Read the gossip for yourself, after the jump.
US Weekly (April 14) devotes 4 pages to the big news! They also have sidebars on: Chace Gay Rumors, A Dating History and Chace’s On Set Fling! The cover has Britney and the headline “Living With Mental Illness” Why yes, yes she is!
People has a 2-page spread with sidebars on who Carrie and Chace will date next! More fascinating in the issue is the story about a pregnant transgendered male. Seriously! The cover features the late Heath Ledger and asks the question, “Did He Have a Secret Child”? Not that People can answer that question.

Thanks for the magazine articles, MJ. Chace and Carrie made a cute couple. If some bits of info in the articles are true, they both need new friends who will not give personal info to the media.
It must be hard having magazines write about one’s personal life and relationships. It must be particularly irritating when info is made up.
JC was blindsided by the Chace rumor question on a radio morning show interview. He did not know that that rumor was being circulated until the first radio interview that day. The second radio morning show interview is the one quoted in the article.
As JC has said, when his picture is taken with a girl a few times, the reports are that they are in a relationship. When he is pictured with another girl, the reports are that he’s cheating on the other girl.
He said it’s stupid that now he can’t even hang out with his male friends without rumors that they are dating. He said that the report of them hanging out at the Roosevelt Hotel cabana in March was completely made up. Never happened. Said the last time he was at the Roosevelt was during Grammy week and he was there for a concert.
JC and Chace are friends and they have the same manager. I’m sure that he gives tickets to them and takes them to events in appreciation of being working clients. On videos it can be seen that at events there are usually several people in the party, including their manager sometimes, but they are the only two the paps know and who’s picture they want to take. Guess they never thought twice about posing for pictures together.
Oh well, they are all grownups. I’m sure they are used to it by now but it must be irritating.
What’s wrong with that guys eyebrow?
Finally, a bad picture of Carrie — when did she acquire a double chin?
I don’t see a picture of her with a double chin.
Carrie, Anthony Federov isn’t dating anyone at the moment.
I liked Carrie better with the quaterback from Dallas, but he obviously went insane and is dating Jessica Simpson(WTF?) so I hope Carrie meets someone who will treat her right and make her happy.
Eh, I always look at these ‘celebrity’ relationships with a bit of suspicion. It just seems to be self serving in a way.
“Carrie, Anthony Federov isn’t dating anyone at the moment”
Actually he’s been in a serious relationship with a very beautiful and sweet girl since Nov. 2006.
Carrie sounded so jealous and utterly high-maintenance–calling Chace so many times a day, texting him non-stop, constantly wanting him at her concerts. She hasn’t had a good track record with men–there’s your answer right there.
^ im gonna go with don’t believe everything you read…..these mags have like 8% credibility on a good day….. those “sources” could be random people off the street not actually anyone “close” to the couple

When Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford split up, the couple called it quits digital style, says the country star.
“It was completely mutual,” Underwood told Extra at the taping of Idol Gives Back. “We broke up over text so … it’s like ‘peace out.’ ”
According to Underwood, the breakup wasn’t a tearful confrontation, but a realization that the romance just wasn’t meant to be between her and the Gossip Girl hunk. “It just didn’t work,” she said. “We both knew it didn’t work and [had] no hard feelings at all whatsoever.”
Although the couple hasn’t spoken recently, Underwood has nothing negative to say about her ex. “I don’t dislike him, so it’s no big deal.”
The split was a bit harder on Crawford, however. “He was upset about the breakup,” his sister, Candice, told PEOPLE last week. “It’s always hard when you lose a relationship.”
Underwood reveals that her high profile relationship was made harder by fame. “It’s difficult while you’re dating because people always make a lot bigger deal of things than they actually are,” she tells Extra. “Then when you break up with somebody and then like two months later it comes out and it’s like you’re rehashing old stuff. I don’t know what that’s all out now.”

Oh how shallow does all of this sound to me? Pretty much sums up why I said what I said a couple of days ago. I always wonder how some people manage to maintain a relationship and privacy at the same time and others don’t. It’s usually when someone allows that to be a part of their publicity machine that it happens. Peace out back at you Ms. Underwood.
