Good job idols. And congrats to Daughtry, that album is 2 years old now and still has legs. :gulp_ee:
Congrats to Jordin. I am so glad that she’s had such a good year and gained so many fans. She might have started a bit slow out of the gate, but her album has some legs and her singles do to. Good for her. She’s now another AI winner paradigm or model to compare future peeps against. Her success and path look different from Kelly’s and Carrie’s but just as valid.
What’s the difference between Hot Digital Tracks and Hot Digital Songs?
MJ,
You didn’t include – Readers’ Poll: 10 Best Albums (which is very important).
Cook came in 3rd and Archuleta came in 2nd.
We asked you, the Billboard.com readers, what your favorite album of 2008 was, and more than 16,000 of you heeded the call. Here are ten albums that snagged the most votes, a list that ranges from music by three mega-selling divas; rock acts old and new; finalists from another season of “American Idol”; plus a few surprises!
1. Britney Spears, “Circus”
2. David Archuleta, “David Archuleta”
3. David Cook, “David Cook”
4. Mariah Carey, “E=MC2″
5. Elisa, “Dancing”
6. Guns N’ Roses, “Chinese Democracy”
7. Beyonce, “I Am… Sasha Fierce”
8. Panic At The Disco, “Pretty. Odd.”
9. RBD, “Best of RBD”
10. Anastacia, ‘Heavy Rotation.”
It’s times like these that I really, really regret that they never released the sales numbers for the Idol contestants from the season. It would be very interesting to see how some of the biggest songs from the Idol season stack up against the other songs this year.
Thanks for putting all this together, MJ, and everyone else who’s pitching in.
Congratulations David Cook! 13 charted titles!
You are awesome!
