I assumed that by “Older brothers can be sexy” he meant himself? (In response to Syesha saying Cook couldn’t be sexy, he’s like her older brother…) And the reporter, being clueless, missed it. But maybe I’m the clueless one!
I’m in New York–I’m guessing you’re in Australia or New Zealand?
Miss Purple is in the Philiphines - I was born in NY - Bethpage Town Of Oyster Bay I wonder if you know my relatives? Just kidding, I mean there are only a few people in NY right?? ugh I KNOW I did not spell that right Philipphines?
I know Bethpage. I live like, well, not there but close. I grew up in Wantagh. Maybe I know you? Ha.
I really only followed Elliott and loved his blogs (when he used to do them).
Haha! No, you didn’t. Elliott couldn’t, either. He also spelled Manila “Manilla.” LOL (The Pinoys love him, anyway, as I do sumidol, too. ;) )
sumidol (almost) got it right…I’m in the Philippines (shameless plug, lol. ;)
Ooooh, purddy!
I couldn’t really say either; I haven’t so much followed other Idols–I tried to follow Melinda a little last year, but it seemed to me she pretty much dropped off the face of the earth after Idol–but I wasn’t really trying very hard.
New bulletin from Jason:
Yes, Jasonn, the desert is hot. Take a breath before you just explode from excitement, okay? (I have a big dopey grin on my face about now, myself, I shouldn’t talk.)
Oh my yes, I am in Az now and last week it got to 121. Good Luck Jason and stay in the shade!!!

“sumidol (almost) got it right…I’m in the Philippines (shameless plug, lol. ;)”
Aww purple you are funny - thanks and right back at you!! That is a very pretty shameless plug
I can’t get enough of all the Jasonnn news! I’m getting very busy at work right now and I can’t get off the computer in search of news about or from Jason!
HELP!
Oh gosh he makes me smile!! The excitement is just spilling over in every one of his posts. What a sweetheart he is…….I love him! :) Looking forward to tour spoilers on July 1. And really looking forward to the Detroit concert! Yeah! Keep the Jason news coming!!!
Aww, Jason just exudes excitement. I’m so happy I voted to get him to number 4. He’s getting good at this myspace stuff, too. Go Jason. :-)
It’s crawling over Jason’s MySpace page with a magnifying glass time!
Kristy has been added to his top friends. (She probably made him do it, lol). He also added the band “Green River Ordinance,” and took off his dad and the missing girl.
OK Idolbeat - Take a deep cleansing breath - lift those fingers off of the keyboard, ok now stand up and step away from the computer NOW!!! Did that help???
Uh-oh…never mess with Jasonnn’s sleep…
American Idol David Cook Ready for the Road, Fans
vagabond, I’m going to the Detroit concert too! We have a party of 8 lol! Not great seats but I don’t care! I am experiencing Jason with 3 generations of Jason lurvers!
sumidol - here I am. It helped for a little bit but I keep getting sucked back in (in a good way!)
Tonight, we went to see Wall-E in Destin, which the area is filled with vacationers - many celebrities - I saw a foursome who my husband swears was Jay-Z ( I don’t think so but I humored him; the girl he was with had shoes on that I was in serious shoe envy over) but the whole time I kept on thinking, wow, Jason Castro was at the Red Bar! I still can’t get over it!
I have not seen Mandy anywhere and I know she is supposed to be working somewhere!
What is everyone wearing to the concerts?
Jay-Z is in Glastonbury - so hubby was wrong. He sure did look like him though!
Oh to be in Arizona!
Too bad we don’t all have unlimited resources, we could buy a VW bus, decorate it and follow Jason around - the Dreadheads instead of the Deadheads…….LOL. As far as what to wear to the tour, I’ll be wearing a Jason t-shirt of course! My sis will too. I even had a Dreadhead shirt made for my 10 month old grandson, and got a photo of the two of us - it’s my new avatar at DDB, Castrocopia and Myspace.
I’m really glad he is sharing so much with his fans. In a few years we are all going to be able to say we were here in the very beginning. :) ‘Cause he will have a very nice career, I’m just sure of it.
Peace, love and Jason Castro!
I was unable to keep up with all the media (and the blog) after Syesha was eliminated, so I’m not sure if this one was posted before and I just missed it. I just thought Jason was cute in his less than two-second (from 1:10 to 1:11) exposure. (Ok, I admit it, I just love the purple shirt! Heh.)
Top 3 Cover Shoot for TV Guide
And the striped shirt, which I had not seen before. :D
I wondered where that picture of Jasonnn running on the treadmill came from! (I love that shirt too–it’s from the Ford commercial with the save the environment message, right?)
More crawling around Jasonnn’s MySpace with a magnifying glass…
He’s fixed the “right a cool bio” error! (Rediculous remain unchanged…) But I still think he shouldn’t get someone else to write it, it’s adorkable the way it is.
I agree - I love it that he and his family put all of that together and will be sad when it is written by a professional. When that day comes though it can only mean he is on his way to bigger things in the field that he loves. So, it will be good and bad. I hope he or Jackie just keep on writing and producing the vlogs though.
It must be really hot in Arizona…
Aha! A bunch of stuff:
An interview with Jason and Brooke (Castrocopia found this one)
This was in my New York Times sports section this morning (although Castrocopia found it yesterday–how did they do that?). Yes, I said sports. Jason reference nonetheless.
And a post from a crazed Cook fan–it has pictures of Jason and pictures BY Jason–because “AND JASON WAS SOOO FUNNY! HE WAS RUNNING AROUND WITH MY CAMERA TAKING PICTURES! IT WAS ADORABLE!”
That’s enough for now–I actually have work-related stuff to do, however irrelevant it seems…!
LOL, rereader. Again, I saw all of those earlier (while you were sleeping, heh) but I posted only the Cookie pics and account in yesterday’s headlines thread. I guess I’m getting a little lazy with the crack dealing these days…
However, I feel like a crack overload is in the offing with the start of the tour tomorrow, no? ;)
I could use a crack overload–for some reason I’m feeling a little blue this morning (maybe it’s this pile of work I’ve been neglecting while on my foraging missions!)
Maybe this will help a little, rereader? ;)
(Thanks to Linda from the etrain for finding it. :D)
Nothing like a big smile from Jason!
Thanks for that last one. That one is new to me. Maybe I’ve just been staring at too many pics of Jason, but he’s starting to look really skinny to me. Look at the size of his legs compared to all the girls.
I’m sure he eats plenty, but I think all the time inside where the Idols don’t get to be active isn’t doing them any good.
Charm’s cool
Brooke White, Jason Castro bring their down-to-earth sparkle to town for ‘Idol’ tour.
New bulletin from Jason!
Wooo! Somebody needs to pull him down off the ceiling so he can sleep tonight!
The best way to do that would probably not include telling him that he is currently #48 on MySpace’s Top 100 Unsigned Artists… (David Cook is currently #39. None of the other Idols are on the list.)
A little blurb (with pic) on Jason’s visit to a church in Rockwell. The blogger says her baby son was enamored with the dreads. :D
Let’s hope in his excitement Jason doesn’t stand us up tomorrow night!
I see he’s at it again with myspace bulletins.
Expect LOTS of screaming, squealing fans Jasonnnn. And expect to be mobbed.
I hope they know what they’re in for. I think the boys this year are going to need extra tight security to fend off the crazies.
I’m wondering about date-night tomorrow too pj. Unless he does it before they leave for the arena he’s not going to have time.
Oh thanks for leading me back to this thread - aww Rereader it is so funny, you all post everything on here and earlier I saw that post from Jason and I thought I am going to be FIRST this time, I can contribute too - but I couldnt find the gosh dang thread (I forgot to bookmark this one) so I stuck it on the Headline page. He doesnt forget his fans that child
“The best way to do that would probably not include telling him that he is currently #48 on MySpace’s Top 100 Unsigned Artists… (David Cook is currently #39. None of the other Idols are on the list.)”
But of course Jason is in the Top 100 - now David C needs to get Jasons sister to take over HIS messed up myspace page. It wont let anyone add him or if you have him as a friend, you cannot add comments since 6/27 at 130p?
When I saw that, I was like, “Oh, Jason and his fans.” For a moment there, I forgot about Carly and KLC, heh.
These pics appear to have been posted 2 weeks ago, but I’ve not seen them until today… (Check out photo # 14!) ;)
‘Idol’ finalists on “Larry King Live”
Ok, somebody (two bodies, actually, lol) helped me get pic # 14! Haha!
They might not be new, but they are new to me! Thanks purplesmile…
New bulletin from Jasonnn:
Hmmmmm. Wonder what THAT’S all about….
Jason Castro got David Archuleta to stay out late — way late, like 1 a.m. (All part of the go-kart extravaganza — the venue even stayed open late for the Idols.) And Archie’s dad was encouraging him to hang with the guys. “He’s gotten kind of comfortable now,” Castro says of his Idol-mate.
But Castro admits it’s perhaps he who is most misunderstood among the group. “Somebody said I was dumb as a bag of rocks,” he says (though he insists he reads very little of his own press, except for the occasional glowing dispatch forwarded over e-mail by his mom). “That’s foolish. They don’t even know me.” Like, they probably don’t know that the former Texas A&M student scored 1340 on his SATs “without even studying.” He says he’s like Uh-Huh in The Little Rascals, who said: “Actually, I’ve always had a rather extensive vocabulary, not to mention a phenomenal grasp of grammar and a superlative command of syntax. I simply chose not to employ them.” Or Mark Twain (paraphrased): “It’s better to remain quiet and let people think you’re stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
The Vans-clad Castro is refreshingly candid: “I have no record-label talks. 19 (Entertainment) told me one label showed a little interest but they weren’t sure it would turn into anything.” No matter. Castro plans to make music 2008-style, with or without a record deal. So he’s writing his typical acoustic-heavy songs — some “happy, beachy,” others meatier — in the meantime, though he’s having a hard time getting work done on tour. “We’re all in cramped quarters. It’s not really conducive” to the creative process.
He’s looking forward to singing his audition song, Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy, tonight. (It never aired during the show because Idol couldn’t get clearance.) Retooled in the style of Ray LaMontagne, “it fits me really well.”
What he’s not so jazzed about: the final group number, Don’t Stop the Music. (The group stuff, incidentally, was his parents’ favorite part of the show.) “It’s not a song I would ever sing. I feel awkward singing it. But it’s fun.”
