Jason Castro Interview and Performance, The Elvis Duran Show

Jason Castro was in New York City yesterday, promoting his new single, “Let’s Just Fall In Love” from his acoustic-based self-titled album due to hit stores early next year.
Jason sat down for a little interview with the Elvis Duran One on One Show. He totally avoided answering questions about Chris Sligh’s recent blog advising the Idols, before performing “Let’s Just Fall in Love” and a beautiful rendition of “Hallelujah”.
Jason is currently on a nationwide mall tour.

Jason’s vocal training seems to have paid off in these two performances. Very nice job on both songs. Cannot compare the two songs themselves as Hallelujah is in a very special class, of course. Great that it will be on his album.
“since on AI we never really got a recorded version” They released the short, 1.5 minute version for sale during AI. Yeah, not the whole song.
And it was the live, albeit slightly tinkered with, version, not a studio recording.
And yes, the music video for “Let’s Just Fall in Love Again” is indeed at #24 on iTunes at present.
I agree that, as HappyDaisy just said, Jason’s vocal training shows in these performances–and also his guitar skills have improved by leaps and bounds. As have his interview skills. Obviously he’s been putting in a lot of work in the past year, and it shows.
Hi, Purplesmile! So glad to see you!
Very, very nice! I loved the finger picking guitar playing with “Hallelujah”! It was beautiful! I watched on full screen and as someone said above, the camera was very close to his face.
Wow. Cannot wait to buy his album. I wish LJFILA was stripped down like he sang it here, and man- I just love his Hallelujah.
Awesome!!!!
Hey Purps!!!!!!!!
So happy to hear that Jason took Masterclass Lady’s advice! It is wonderful to see such a talented young man work hard to reach his goals. He was my favorite from Season 7 and knowing that his CD will soon be released is pleasing me to no end.
What a sweetheart!
You know… I only watched the first song due to time restraints earlier. I like the single. It’s catchy and it catches his quirky vibe, his pretty voice. But I thought, damn Jason, just think how great you’ll be when you have suffered a bit more in life. Broken heart, etc. LOL.
Just now I watched Hallelujah and he sang it with such passion. So beautiful.
I was originally disappointed that Atlantic didn’t release the album on schedule, but maybe it was for the best. So many are releasing that day. I believe they want to develop him as an artist, and not shove him out as an “Idol.” I’ve noticed the tweets between him and Ryan Star, and I thought they were because they are both friends with Cookie. That could be part of it, but they are also both on Atlantic.
huh!! i WONDER WHAT THIS REALLY NICE KID JASON TALKS TO RUDE AND CRUDE BUT TALENTED RYAN ABOUT(AT LEAST HE WAS LIKE THAT
ON ROCK STAR!!!!
JASON IS STILL HIS LOVERLEY SELF AND AS BEAUTIFUL AS EVER. I AM SO HAPPY THAT HE HAS RECORDED AND IS GETTING SOME FACE TIME TO PROMOTE HIS VERY MEMORABLE SONG LFILAOA.
HALLELUJAH STILL SOUNDS GOOD FROM HIS LIPS. I SO LOVE THAT HE IS THAT GUY WITH THE UNIQUE SOUND AND CAMERA LOVIN FACE.
YUP! ON MY CHRISTMAS LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!
saw this as kris’s latest tweet:
KrisAllen4Real Hey guys go check out @jasoncastro new video. http://j.mp/3HjRP1
David Archuleta was also in New York City. I wonder if they got together at all. Jason’s “Hallelujah” was just lovely.
It was nice of Kris to give Jason a shout out about the vid. I love that all the Idols (or most anyway) are all so supportive of each other.
ozarka, I don’t think so. The day Jason filmed the Z100 bit he also had a mall show in NJ that afternoon/evening. I don’t think he had much down time and likely Archie didn’t either.
