terribly lame… can’t wait for Leno to retire…
I guess they do it for the exposure, but not one of these skits or whatever they are, are funny on Leno. Just freaking awful. When is Conan taking over?
Yes it was lame but I like Huey a lot more than Gene Simmons. Did Jay do the same thing with KLC, Carly, and Brooke?
Next year. Not soon enough, if you ask me.
Huey Lewis a “major rock star?” If it was 1983 maybe. Jason was cute though.
I didnt care for the skit but seeing Jason makes me smile
Lame yes, but I gotta say that Jason sounded the most natural of any contestant I have ever seen do this bit on the Tonight Show. You can usually tell they are reading lines, but Jason is a definate actor! Smooth delivery!
Clearly they’re doing a takeoff of one of those Geico commercials. I haven’t watched any of the others, do they always do this “Geico Light”?
Whatever man, that Jason is SMOOTH.
Wow. That sucked. Jason was nice to see. But again, sucked.
Leno what happened?!!? There was a point in time in your life where you were actually good! He’s so close to retirement he just must not care anymore. Comes across that way.
Ugh that was sooooo lame. But Jason was adorable.
Jason saved that show for me. Ugh to the rest!
Huey Lewis should hang it up.
Should be better Jason time when he gets to NY.
ok it was lame glad I did not watch the other contestants…
I am not really fond of his personality off the show he protrays everyone else here does love him…
Amen sister. I can’t stand leno. He’s the least funny guy on tv – and I have no idea how so many people watch his show. He’s no Johnny Carson, that’s for sure. I do love Conan though, so I might start watching it when he’s on.
There are just certain things that I cannot watch – even if someone I love is a guest. Aside from the lamo leno, I can’t watch those shrews on the view for anyone.
Glad that I didn’t stay up for that. It was just embarrassing. Jason looked good, but blick on the rest. Huey, Huey, Huey…just no.
Yes. Jay has had every Top 10 contestant on his show the day after elimination since at least 2006. I don’t know if the show did it before then because I did not care enough about any of the contestants to follow what they did until Season 5.
Each year there is a different theme for the bits that they use for the entire season. For Season 5 they spun a wheel for a (lame) prize. I was back to not caring for Season 6 so I don’t remember what the theme was.
Jason’s was one of the best of the bits this year, IMO. The week Gene Simmons was on was awful, IMO.
No matter how lame the bits, I think that going on The Tonight Show is great for the booted Idol contestants. Good exposure, plus they will have the memory of being on The Tonight Show. I’m sure that they all hope to be back to perform on the show someday.
