I do know that David has been asked repeatedly about specific accusations and repeatedly refutes things that have been said. Also, the idols who spent mega amount of time during the show and on tour have repeatedly said what a great guy Jeff is. I don’t trust the producers and those kinds of people over those people who spent mega amounts of time living with Jeff.

As far as Nigel, he has a lot of reason to let the rumors fly in order to keep things competitive, so the show would stay interesting.

Also, after watching David for months, I have no doubt that he knows who he is and has very strong opinions on things. When David was wearing the ugly suit during tour, the fans repeatedly told Jeff he should convince David to complain and change it, and Jeff told them that David is very stubborn and would have nothing to do with a change. Also, I have heard many radio interviews where DJ’s have tried to get David to go in places (with questions) that he doesn’t want to go, and there is no way to do it. He is a very strong person.

Jeff IS a very strong influence musically for David. He is his manager after all. David has repeatedly said he wants his dad looking out for him and they have a great relationship, so for now, I am very satisfied with the arrangement and feel that they were lies told on AI.

Funny what he says about Kris, when Kris is the contestant this year who most reminds me of him!

Dude would benefit greatly from a big shot of self-awareness, chased by an ounce of humility. An open-eyed look in the mirror probably wouldn’t kill him either. LOL

Well, I have to disagree on that. I’m sure Jeff isn’t the most evil father on the planet, and I doubt he’s physically abusive. But I do think there was truth in theose runors. Naomi Judd talked about his overbearing antics. Nigel said that Jeff had been putting a lot of pressure on David. And an EW reporter said that Jeff was directing David on how he should sing on his studio recordings. If your statement holds true, that would make them all liars. Why would they lie- because they have some sort of personal vendetta against David? Sorry, I’m just not buying that.

Stage parents are very common. Sometimes they can be like Usher’s mom (who was good for his career) or like Joe Jackson (who basically drove Michael crazy). Jeff is basically a textbook case- he’s probably somewhere in the middle. It doesn’t necessarily make him, or Michannova’s mom a terrible person. They just need to stop trying to live through their children. That’s all.

I’m actually very interested in the behind the scenes info Jason shares. Hopefully he knows he won’t get in trouble with Idol for saying all these things. This insider info does make me doubt the legitimacy of the whole process, so the show isn’t nearly as fun to watch as it was when I didn’t know any better, lol. It’s fortunate that I don’t have a horse in the race this year, so I can just be an observer, without being invested in anyone. I’m very glad my favorite won last year when I still believed!

We have heard this from other contestants, so I know it is true. I also hate to hear how a contestant practices one song and then at the last minute AI changes it.

I do miss the instruments and can’t wait until they are brought in. I think Michael does not belong in the TOP 12 but he has had a chance to practice and get advice from the vocal coaches.

Yes, with underaged contestants you have the Idol-harping parents. David Archeletta with his dad is an excellent example. Personally he doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t need to spread gossip, but ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a shame her motherà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a big meanie. I agree that Kris should not be in the top 12. Maybe he should have been a wild card and given another chance, but he wasn’t that good. The beginning of his song was weak and off pitch both times.

Megan did have some strange moves, but that can be fixed.

I have a serious issue with the constant song choice harping, especially after knowing some of the insider song choice shenanigans from last year and what Jason Y. has said. Once someone is a real artist, they often have people guiding them, so wouldn’t it be much wiser to help them choose songs that you think would work to see what they can really do???

I also have a problem with the producers not letting them use their instruments. For some of them, their instruments are a part of them as a musician and for the most part, some of them will ALWAYS sing with their instrument once they are a recording artist.

anyway, Kris could stumble early too, along with others making the top 12. I’m not making any predictions. But Jason has not got much credibility to be handicapping this….seems like he’s just spouting off his own opinion, which we all do!~

Well, a lot of people make those statements. From blogs to the media to just us posters here, opinions on the who belongs in the top 12 differ and have differed year after year. And well, most of those people haven’t and won’t ever make it anywhere near even hollywood week. I hope Jason keeps posting. I don’t find it offensive at all that he takes the whole thing seriously. I mean, he is a singer. He wants a career in music and I think for those that want a career as such, a certain level of seriousness about a “big break” is acceptable…at least I think.

I still like him, but the Jeanine comment annoyed me. Make fun of their singing, not their looks, please. This is not ANTM.

I completely agree with his Kris comments, however.

Personally after he bashed and did girly gossip on other contestants I have no incentive to watch any of his vlogs. While I was never a fan of him, his comments have made me less of a fan. I don’t care if they are true or not, a former contestant shouldn’t be doing that. Other former contestants don’t bash and make fun of the other contestants, listing their favorites is good enough. Personally, I think he did this for more views.

This child has some nerve critiquing ANYONE’S singing. Srsly

As for Kris someone on TWOP mentioned that he also had the advance of beeing the last one the people have seen, who change the network to watch Lost.

If she captivated Paula that much, maybe she has a chance. I know that the assumption is there may not be an even number of boys and girls, but I wonder if the judges may not use the WC to bring some more diversity to the cast or musical genres.

I’ve said this in comments already–I don’t think the producers will be as concerned about gender equality as they will be with diversity when choosing for the Wildcard.

So far, we’ve got 5 white contestants and 1 Latina. Depending on how things shake out Wednesday (and Lil Rounds WILL get the pimp spot, so that takes care of the R&B diva spot) I would say the judges will advance a very diverse slate of contestants on Thursday.

This bodes very well for Anoop Desai. Not so much for Ricky Braddy and Matt Giraud.

It probably would have been more effective and kinder if he had done it privately. Possibly even immediately, and not on some obscure blog.

A mom that will berate her child in front of others isn’t going to listen to anyone and Mishavonna already knows her mom is like that so not sure what good a private talk would have done. I don’t have a problem with him talking about it on his vlog.

I completely agree with him on Kris Allen. I didn’t make the top 12 and I think I have the right to say so so why not Jason? I didn’t like the comments about Jeanine’s appearance. It reminds me of some of Simon’s. :annoyed_tb: I didn’t particularly like Megan either but liked her audition so can see her appeal. Hated the weird movements, though.

I’d like to see Matt G and Jesse in the wildcard but think it will be him and Megan as Mj said.

If he thinks Archie was overpimped, cool- I think so too. If he thinks Jenine is ugly, it’s fine, because I kinda agree. I disagree about Kris, Nick, and Megan, but whatever. That’s what’s great about different people giving out opinions- everyone isn’t going to agree on everything. It doesn’t make us bitter sour grapes.

As for Mishonova, I’m glad he gave the dish. Hopefully, her mom will back off now that she’s been exposed. There’s really no reason for him to make that up, so I believe him. I just wish someone would’ve tattled about Jeff last year, since Naomi Judd, Nigel, and an EW reporter weren’t enough confirmation for some people.

I just hope AI doesn’t shut him down or something. I love the inside info.

2) Misha’s mom is the one who should be upset, not Jason for reporting it. It is not like he bugged their house to get this information. The woman did all of her actions in PUBLIC…at a place there were cameras. I suppose she should be grateful the Idol producers did not catch it on camera…as they surely would have broadcast it on tv. So personally, I think him reporting it is totally fairgame. If her mom did not want to be portrayed this way…she should shut up in public.

Anyway, I think Jason’s bitter and a little cocky. However, he probably has some valid reasons for criticizing the way they do business behind scenes and he’s certainly entitled to his opinion. To criticize song choices of the contestants, when the contestants don’t really have much choice, has to be frustrating. The tidbit about Mishovanna’s Mom is sad.

I mean, right now there’s no r&b “diva” yet. There’s no country male or female. There’s no real (male) “rocker”. There’s no folk, singer-songwriter type male or female, as far as we can tell from the song “choices” they’ve made. There’s no urban/R&b male yet.

There’s a girl rocker and a girl soul/blues singer. There are several guys who appear to fit the “blue-eyed soul”/AC roll and there’s Adam who sort of defies genre classification, lol.

If I had to guess I’d say Anoop’s a lock. He sings contemporary r&b and happens to be Asian which brings both musical and ethnic diversity, and obviously he’s very talented (and likable!). Beyond that, I haven’t got a clue who is likely to be in the WC round.

I don’t think Simon’s a good judge of singers. I think he’s a good judge of what can be packaged and sold to the masses. He’s a suit not a musician, and sometimes I think he judges talent by parts of his body other than his brain.

And Kris couldn’t either to the extent that I did NOT even recognize the song and thought there must be another Man In The Mirror, not the Jackson song.

I like Jason Yeager, and I agree with most of he said. I certainly think that Kris wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t one of the best of the night, and doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t deserve a spot in the Top 12. Any one of the three girls (Jesse, Mishavonna and Megan) could, and should have taken his place.

I think he is right to mention Mishavonnaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s stage mom. What she did sounds to me like a form of child abuse, and child abuser should be exposed and told that their behaviours are not tolerable. Keeping things like that quiet is complicity in abuse.

I absolutely agree with all of this. He’s vlogging. So what? We are posting on MJ’s blog. There are quite a few vloggers/bloggers out there and they are expressing an opinion and snarking on the process as well. The major difference is that he’s not only a fan, but a participant too, so he has an insider’s perspective on some things. If the show is on for a few seasons more, I expect that we’ll see more of these things popping up.
