It sounds like a Ryan Tedder knock-off, and since it’s been reported that Tedder is writing for Kris’s album, no need for imitations, right? Heh. There’s no word whether Kris recorded “Build Some Love” for his new album, set to be released on November 17.
What do you think? Do you like?

Maybe JC saw how much attention The Scripts got for their leak of LLWD, so he figured he’d try it too, to give himself some publicity.
As was pointed out earlier, JC co-wrote (with David Archuleta) the song “Don’t Let Go” which made it onto David’s album, but he also wrote another song for David called “Ruined Me” which never made it onto the album. That song is even listed on ASCAP with JC Chasez as a co-writer and Archie as the performer. However, it has never seen the light of day. No leaked YouTube or MP3. No one knows what it sounds like.
My point is that since “Build Some Love” has been leaked, then it is very possible that it will be showing up on Kris’s album. Besides, if it didn’t make it onto the album, it would be doing the future buyer of that song a disservice to leak it. The fact that it has been leaked depreciates its value. Having said that, the opposite is also true. If it has made it onto the album, it does a disservice to Kris to have leaked the demo. Very disrespectful indeed.

Poor JC. He just kept living under Justin’s shadow. The truth is, JC has never been good on his own, his debut solo album sucked (it was filled with an unnecessary excess of sexual themes that his target audience was not expecting).
I don’t think his voice sounds like Kris’ at all. And I’m sure Jive had tons of better songs to choose from.
It’s probably just semantics, but I don’t think you can really call the youtube of The Scripts version of LLWD a leak, since it’s been up since January of this year, back when the Idol Season 8 audition episodes were still airing.
And unless the record company is already married to BSM, which seems unlikely (although I do think that Kris could really do something with it) I would say that the leak of the song really does tank its chances to make the album. I would think anyone whose songs are approved for the album is under a strict non-disclosure agreement, and it seems like the leak would violate that.
Wait, was that the album that Blowin Me Up With Her Love was on? LOL, I loved that song hard, it was my singalong jam for months. But true, not exactly a songwriting masterpiece. But in a totally different vein, Something Special was a really nice song, very sweet yet sexy.
But yeah, JT has completely eclipsed the guy.
OK, not a bad song….just aight. I’m hoping Kris’s jive team is looking at his original material just in case he has a jewel or two among his own work. Other than that, I really want to believe they will be wanting to try to work with the Artist, rather than just push only the material that has not been accepted first by kris!!!
I agree that he would sound good covering JT’s WGACA, but not for a
a debut album!!! timbaland writes some awesome stuff….I’d like to see
that connection!
sounds like one of those b-side n-sync songs….i dont like the chorus but the begining was nice
hope it wont be on kris’s album…
is jc the lead singer..the dark hair dude? how i loved n-sync in my tweens years…esp bye bye bye
Hey, you guys are harsh. I thought the song was beautiful, especially the verse. The chorus was very boy-bandish as some of you have mentioned but that’s more because of the arrangements, clapping and strings and I don’t know what. Make a raw accoustic version a la the frays of this with strong guitars in the chorus instead (electric guitar solo, why not) and it could be awesome.
I like the opening piano and strings on this. The actual song is plodding at best. The lyrics – I can’t remember a single word after listening 3 times and the chorus reminds me of ’some song’ that I can’t put my finger on.
I see this came from a JC fan site and there is nothing official about it. He possibly submitted this to Jive, as I’m sure quite a few songwriters (and wannabe songwriters) do. Or one of his fans got hold of this demo and decided it should go to Kris.
I could seriously write a song (hey, I’ve written poetry and I have Garage Band on my computer) and get my nephew’s award winning blues band to record a demo and tweak it a bit. Then I can, or they could, shoot it off to Jive saying it was written for Kris Allen or whomever via registered mail.
There we go … with very little effort I can honestly say that a song I’ve written has been accepted by Jive for inclusion on Kris Allen’s debut album. I can have the demo ‘leaked’ on said nephew’s band site and myspace music. Instant hits for them and maybe a few people will buy their stuff. (It’s actually very good.)
I just checked out the youtube of the song JC wrote for David Archuletta. It stinks to high heaven and is incredibly sing-songy.
Could Kris Allen change up this sample to make it something ok? Most likely. Should he? No.
It’s just a demo sent to Kris in hopes that it might be used. I doubt Kris will use it, but if he did, I agree that he would make it sound better than it does right now.
I doubt it will end up on the album.
I agree with the other posters who said this would be a little blah for Kris and it does sound like Ryan Tedder. It’s very Come Home. I do miss JC’s voice though. I wish he would put out another record.
It’s an okay song, though a bit depressing for my taste. Sounds like something that could end up as a filler track.
IMO, this song is a better song than LLWD.
I really don’t like the song..I wish they would give Kris a song maybe like Ain’t no Sunshine…He kills that song and makes me cry…Please give Kris a good song! â™ ¥luv him
I liked it. That’s it. I LIKE THIS SONG, especially the beautiful intro.
so agree with this…. I wish at least one will showcase this
I like the oppening.. the..first verse..but the chorus.. is a throw away.. I hope they didn’t pick this for his album.
I’m all up for a good ballad now and then, but this is a snore-fest. NEXT!!
If i wasn’t curious before, now I’m practically dying to hear what type of songs are picked for his debut. I think Kris is going to surprise alot of us here (for better or worse)
MJ what I love most about your site is that you do delete the nasty posts unlike some other blogging sites -who shall remain nameless. You are right there is no need for my idol is better than yours. The show is over. They are living their lives now and each and every one of them has a unique sound. No sense in comparing.
As for this song – (Oh no this is the salient point in the second paragraph). It does sound just like a JC Chasez song!! Especially the end. I could picture this being sung by N Sync…lol..
I’m sure this is just a demo and he won’t lead with it. It’s not bad, but it’s not good either. It’s forgetable. When Kris finds the right song he hits it well. He just needs the right material and this isn’t it.
Maybe I should put my “tinfoil hat” on, but I like this song! I was like “dang, how can I rip this tune to my iPOD?”
I guess I like soppy singalongs; I used to groove to N’Sync stuff too back in the day; even attended 2 concerts! I know, sillyness. But if I could rip this tune from the internet, I would! If it was on iTunes, I’d DL it! OK, let me have it now….. I can take it!
I like the beginning of it and the first chorus. I think Kris would sound wonderful on that part, at least.
