Jennifer Hudson nominated for Best Supporting Actress

Academy Award nominations were announced this morning.  As expected, Jennifer Hudson was nominated Best Supporting Actress for her role as Effie White in “Dreamgirls”.  Eddie Murphy was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category.

Surprisingly, neither the director, Bill Condon, nor the film were nominated for awards

Congratulations to Jennifer Hudson!  I look forward to hearing her acceptance speech when the Academy Awards are broadcast on ABC February 25.  Yes, I’m very confident she’s going to win…

Good for Jennifer!! I wonder if she will thank Simon Cowell as he requested.HA! Maybe the big surprise the producers have planned for the middle of the season is a Dreamgirls night, with Jennifer and Beyonce coming on the show (with Diana Ross).

Although never a JHud fan, she’s worked hard for this and deserves it. I’m glad the Oscars run on Sunday nights rather than on an AI night else I’d never even blink at them! ;.) Her win will only continue to add cred to the show, and grow the obsession ppl have with getting on AI to compete and win. Afterall, the only way to make it in the biz is to make it on American Idol, right?

    Congrats to Jennifer!!!! Well deserved.’
Her interviews and appearances on talk shows have been classy, good fun humor…she does a great interview. And the performances on those shows have been incredibly good (which doesnt often happen even with good talent as they’re not set up for good sound/music usually).

I hope she does “not” give attention to Simon by thanking him as he asked her to do if she wins. Yes, ok to thank AI for her start, but not him personally. He/they are feeding off of her now.

Jennifer and Eddie Murphy both were the ones deserving in this movie, glad they are recognized.

History will tell you that its highly unlikely a BSA nominee will win the award if the movie is not nominated for BP also. This does not bode well for Hudson and Murphy.

The reason movies get BP nominees is due in large part to superb acting. Thus, you can expect thats where the winners will come from.

Just the nomination bodes well in my opinion. Much congrats to Ms. Hudson. May she never face “the curse.” Jennifer is doing herself and AI proud. I liked her very much in AI3 and was sad when she was voted off.

I hope JH has many years of a great musical career ahead.
