Much better than “Tattoo” if only because it doesn’t sound like an “Irreplaceable” rip off, heh.

If she’s handled/managed right, she has a big career ahead of her. She’s still young.

Why are there always such odd sounds in the background of Jordin’s song? First, there is the dog yelping (though, I liked Michael Slezak’s idea that it’s somebody yelping after burning their mouth on hot popcorn). Now it sounds like muffled fireworks are going off in the back (perhaps they recorded it on the 4th of July in a really cheap studio?)

I’m going to be contrary and say that I like “Tattoo” better. Having her duet with Chris Brown is smart though, because some of his fans might buy the album as well (or at least download the track). He just released an album this week and based on estimates from HDD, he will do 300-310K which is pretty darn good in this market. His song “Kiss Kiss” is tearing up the charts (15,237 spins in the last week and audience impressions of 121.53 million). Plus, he’s only 7 months older than Jordin, so not icky-age-inappropriate.

Sucks. Even though I don’t care so much for Tatto, it is a million times better than this crap.
    What was Chris Brown thinking?

  5. 5 abbysee Nov 11th, 2007 at 12:06 pm

Not bad at all. Not rushing to purchase it on the strength of either song yet though.

I did not like this either. Hmmm. I expected more from Chris B.

I guess one of the reviewers from Jordin’s Cd were right.
Tattoo is the strongest track on her CD, that’ not good.

I doesn’t sound like a finished track to me.

  8. 8 emmavelle Nov 11th, 2007 at 12:40 pm

Sorry, I didn’t care for it either.

I can’t really say which I like better between this or “Tattoo”, but they’re both pretty good, I think… and good tracks for Jordin to do. And I agree, Kirsten - having a duet with Chris Brown on her cd is a very smart move indeed.

It’s better than “Tattoo” but, again, that’s not saying much. But I agree, working with Chris Brown is a really smart move.

Oh my, has she angered someone at 19abcd? These songs are awful…. and I like Chris Brown.

  12. 12 marco5ny Nov 11th, 2007 at 4:38 pm

I like this one. Would be very interested in hearing a deeper beat remix like the club versions of Nelly Furtado’s Say It Right or Mariah Carey’s We Belong Together.

  13. 13 primeminister Nov 11th, 2007 at 6:06 pm

Working with Chris Brown IS a smart move
BUT Jordin should seriously pick better things to sing. This song is a little too generic and repetitive.

  14. 14 pj Nov 11th, 2007 at 6:21 pm

I’ll have to listen a few more times, but my first impression wasn’t favorable. I’ll try to keep an open mind. Even Tattoo has grown on me a bit. When it comes on the radio, I don’t turn the station.

  15. 15 Daughtry_AJ Nov 11th, 2007 at 8:07 pm

This is obviously a demo of the track, no studio song sounds this unpolished, but that being said I can already tell this will be a bigger hit then Tattoo. Very catchy chorus, and dueting with a popular artist around Jordin’s age is a very good move.

  16. 16 star Nov 11th, 2007 at 8:11 pm

It isn’t a demo…the person that leaked it got an advance copy of the cd (at least that’s how I understand it - some DJ?). I think this is probably just a poor quality rip of the song.

  17. 17 Daughtry_AJ Nov 11th, 2007 at 8:17 pm

Hmmm, well I’m not as impressed with it if it isn’t a demo, cause it sure sounds like one to me, but maybe it is just the poor quality that’s throwing me off.

  18. 18 primeminister Nov 11th, 2007 at 10:05 pm

Okay, so I’ve listened to “No Air” a couple times over and it isn’t as bad as when I first heard it.

Like others here, Tattoo is definitely starting to grow on me. But I don’t think whether I like it or not will really matter, Jordin looks like she’ll be a success.

Remember Carrie’s first single, “Some Hearts”?? I though it was rather generic and cheesy, but her following singles improved and BOOM! she’s a massive hit. I believe, rather optimistically, the same will happen for Jordin.

  19. 19 Nevada Nov 11th, 2007 at 10:15 pm

Carrie’s first single from her album, “Some Hearts,” was “Jesus Take the Wheel.”

Her other singles were “Don’t Forget to Remember Me,” “Before He Cheats,” and “Wasted.”

  20. 20 vegasdee Nov 12th, 2007 at 12:05 am

I love Nevada! Anyways, we all know Jordin was not my favorite, but this song will probably be a hit for her.

  21. 21 primeminister Nov 12th, 2007 at 12:25 am

Nevada, if I remember correctly, Jesus take the Wheel was released to the country market, while Some Hearts was being promoted on the Pop charts.

  22. 22 jobbix Nov 12th, 2007 at 2:08 am

It reminds me of JoJo’s Too Little Too Late, but not as good…

  23. 23 dulce Nov 12th, 2007 at 2:39 am

Good move for Jordin all around. The song is catchy and Chris Brown is a pretty “hot” artist right now. She actually has a great recording voice and these tracks are AGE APPROPRIATE. She shouldn’t be releasing things like Beyonce or Mariah. They’re waaayyy older than she is. She is singing teenage pop. It may not be “world changing” enough for some, but I think it gives her tons of room to grow. She’s got the package, she just needs to choose her own direction.

  24. 24 JustSomeGuy Nov 12th, 2007 at 3:34 am

    Like the cd or not..dunno
    Jordin’s voice is seriously good.
    Gonna be a real star.
    How old is she again?

  25. 25 dancin Nov 12th, 2007 at 5:49 am

i absolutely love this song they sound amazing together

  26. 26 dancin Nov 12th, 2007 at 5:49 am

ughhhhhh i hit submit twice by mistake lol
how do you get rid of the second one .. helpppp i can’t breathe i have NO air hehe

  27. 27 xoxoyc Nov 12th, 2007 at 6:55 am

Primeminister: You are correct about Some Hearts being released to pop radio. I’m not sure it was at the same time as JTTW- and it didn’t do much on the charts but it was her leadoff pop single from that album.

  28. 28 ealbino Nov 12th, 2007 at 9:14 am

I like this one much better than Tatoo..I do believe it will be a bigger hit for her..Go Jordin!

  29. 29 tinawina Nov 12th, 2007 at 11:19 am
