I think Jordin is as cute as a button and she performed the song very well, but I am just not a big fan of this song. I liked No Air and Tattoo though.

I posted and it went somewhere else?

Anyway, I really like Jordin, as a person, but all her songs are sounding the same.

Maybe her producers will recognize that cause I think she’s talented.

Her clothing — hey, she’s big, she’s young, she’s free. Don’t think this getup was worse than any other.

Hate the song, hate whats shes wearing, her voice is nothing too interesting either. Shes a big ol cutie though.

It’s good that Jordin’s label chose this song as a follow through. It perfectly fits her market (11-18 YOs in terms of demographics) unlike Carrie’s or Chris’s mid-adult crowd.

I totally agree with The Bullseye in EW (which by the way used to criticize Jordin below the belt) that Jordin has released three great songs in a row. EW hence encouraged people to download One Step at a Time (cf, http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20206262,00.html).

This may somehow explain The Bullseye’s sudden change of perspective. Jordin has had two platinum hit singles (with “No air” hitting double platinum which will likely overtake Carrie’s “Before He Cheats” as the highest selling Idol single, and “Tattoo” nearing double platinum). Her album is nearing platinum as well. Jordin is likewise the only Idol to have a number 1 hit in both Australia and New Zealand (Oceania being a difficult market for American songs to make it to #1), and a top 3 hit in UK (Kelly Clarkson had a #5). Perhaps, the foregoing made The Bullseye finally recognized that while her album sales did not rise as fast as Carrie or Chris, Jordin has longevity and geographical reach in sales.

One Step at a Time is now at #79 in the Billboard Hot 100 and #43 in the Billboard Pop 100. With the Macy’s performance, it is likely that she will make top 40 by next week’s Hot 100.

Of course, the girl is not as phenomenal as Carrie (who is still the greatest idol perhaps) but to Jordin’s credit, she has proved her critics wrong with the way her singles and album have been selling lately.

My ten year old and the great majority of her friends LOVE Jordin. I think she’s a sweetheart - at least she comes off that way. I thougth this performance was very Jordin.

‘One Step at a Time’ is a great pop sng and that is my favorite performace because of the limited vocal gymnastics and back up band.

If I were managing Jordin, I would be handing her a tennis racket and saying, ‘Here, take some lessons,’ because she is 18 now and looks great but in the long haul of a career, she is going to have to be regular intensive physical activity in her lifestyle.

Jordin has a great recording voice for pop music. She sounds like a young Beyonce (that’s a good thing.) Jive has done an terrific job with her. She’s kind of the girl next door vs. the bad girl Rihanna type. Pairing her with Chris Brown was genius. Plus Jordin is someone people root for even if they’re not into her music.

She just shouldn’t wear horizontal stripes.

I was out for a walk last night (the 4th) and heard “Tattoo” playing in someone’s yard. They were all singing along with the song and they weren’t just teens. Thought that was significant for some reason!!!

Somebody needs to clue Jordin in on the optical effect of horizontal stripes on the human body…quickly!

Jordin is very cute and endearing, not crazy about the song but the outfit is not good, girl needs to keep it fun, but this striped top on her is just all kinds of wrong

I loved Jordin’s album, I wish they had released “Permanent Monday” as a single. It ’s a much better song than “One Step at a Time” IMO. But she did a good job here., and she can wear horizontal stripes for all I care. She’s a good role model for all the young girls with real life bodies out there.

Freeze should hopefully be the next single .
