I’m aware of that. My point was that the additional exposure she received from the popular duet probably helped her a little. Personally, I don’t think Jordin’s voice is any better than Kat’s.

Sometimes, why someone is more popular with the public isn’t so easily explained. Often, it’s just catching lightning in a bottle. But, I don’t believe it typically has anything to do with how nice they are. I’ve bought plenty of music made by people that I’m pretty sure are asshats. I just listen to the music, I don’t have to drink beers with them or anything.

I highly doubt 2 weeks is nearly enough time to recover from a problem as severe as that. From what I googled SIX weeks was the MINIMUM suggested rest time. And even after that, one should ease back into things. And by that I mean taking time to learn how to sing properly and take good care of her voice.

I don’t think 2 weeks and going right back into a grueling tour schedule will help matters. Unless they’ll make her lip-synch her set.

Sparks has been going nonstop over the past two years

Really? She was going non-stop before she was on Idol last year?

Okay, I admit it. I don’t understand vocal issues. If she was going to have vocal issues, wouldn’t she have had them when she was on the show and singing every day? Or on the tour when she was doing 5 concerts a week plus recording her album on the off days? Or when she was doing promo for her album and was singing on every talk show known to mankind?

It seems to me that Miss Sparks has not been all that busy lately. One or two performances here or there. Why have vocal issues now? Unless it is a major problem that has been developing for months/years. Once something becomes chronic, it typically takes a bit more than just resting for two weeks to resolve it.

Maybe she should try some ice cream and a nice dip in the pool.

Why is Jordin more successful than Kat mcPhee? Inquiring minds (mine) want to know.
is it management? Age? Attitude?

I’m not really a fan of either, so I actually have no idea. I assume some of it has to do with one being the winner and the other being the runner up. And, to my ears, Kat’s voice has no character. It’s pretty generic. If I accidentally hear her sing, I’m not always sure it’s her. But on the other hand, Jordin’s voice is pretty generic to me too.

Plus Kat’s CD was really, really horrible.

Also – I don’t think Jordin would be doing nearly as well if she hadn’t done that duet with Chris Brown. I think that helped a lot. Working with someone who is popular is going to get you a lot more exposure than working with David Foster.

Why is Jordin more successful than Kat mcPhee?

My opinion is that Kat just wanted to be famous. It’s why she went every route possible: acting, singing, modeling. Once she became famous, she didn’t seem to care about building a career in any of the three genres. Jordin seems to enjoy singing and wants to do that as a career. I could possibly (probably)be completely wrong, but that’s my take on things.
