Jordin Spark’s single “Tattoo” is being re-released in the UK, and there’s now a UK version of the video.
Wow–not only are the production values much improved over the US version, but it’s got a grown-up storyline. Almost, dare I say, edgy. Well, as edgy as a video from Jordin Sparks is going to get. Check out the tattoos growing on people’s bodies. Eep!
Jordin is scheduled to perform on Australian Idol this week. Today in fact. Or was that yesterday? International date line has me confused!

The fact that Blake Lewis was absent from the new Tattoo video already elevated its status in my book. I’ve never liked that yapping sound that starts at the beginning and goes through that song though.
It was edgy but like u said just Jordin edgy :cheese1_ee:. I liked the tattoo ‘vine’ creeping all over, thought it looked cool. Jordin looked beautiful as usual and sounded just great.
I liked the new video, but I was kind of hoping some of the tattoos on the, um, naughtier girls would read “Slut”
Jordin’s performance on Australian Idol was definitely er, um. Don’t they have ear monitors in Australia? I think that was her problem.

She is a pretty girl though, I mean she is a great role model for those young girls with body image issues. That is something she should be promoting more instead of this chastity thing.
Lord! Wish she had talked about sluts instead of singing. The song sucks even more without Chris Brown. She is pretty tho’
Considering how she feels about virginity, I find her awful video a tad hypocritical…just sayin’
I don’t like the song at all but it was better than the original video (which I just went to watch for the first time).
I agree abbysee about the body issues statement but I think her always wearing those oh so very unflattering dresses is her way of promoting that issue.
Contrast her clothing on the video with that which she wears at most performances…
I think I like this one better than the US version.
Seeing her with the bangs-reminded me of Jennifer Hudson.
The video reminded me of a younger, more innocent Janet Jackson. You know how she always has her groupies hanging out in the back of her videos? Of course, they usually breakout into dance and/or song. But JJ would always give a sly little smile to the camera while singing just like Jordin does several times here.
Not her fan, but she didn ´t sound that bad to me in Australian Idol…

This video is a whole lot better than the U.S. version, IMO.
Carly and her husband should have been in this video–they would have fit right in!
I really like this new video. And I do think that whoever styled her for this video should be with her at all times! She looked fabulous!
ptslittlecomment – I was reminded of Janet too especially w/the bangs. You have a point about the friends/backup dancers just lounging around too – very common in a Janet video!
She was off to a pretty slow start but her record company sure came thru for her and gave her the time and promotion she needed. That’s what record companies used to do, nurture folks they signed to bring out their full potential. She’s a talented and also fortunate young woman, Love her look in this video. Maybe the first one was made in haste and this one invoked a little more thought.
