I love Jordin’s first single so much. She is a beautiful girl and can she sing! Nice to see Blake in the video as well.

I am not a big Jordin fan but actually like this song and video and wish her luck. Cute to see Blake in the video!

  4. 4 Anne67 Nov 1st, 2007 at 9:47 am

Sort of reminds of a Jessica Simpson video. Cute to see Blake at the end, but alittle random:)

Say what you want, but the camera loves that girl. I hope the single and album does well.

She is a gorgeous girl. It’s wonderful to see girls in a video who don’t look like 12 year old boys with boobs, who actually have normal bodies. The song is growing on me. Go Jordin!

I didn’t like the song that much before but after seeing that video I like it more…Very nice and love seeing Blake at the end!! Go Jordin!

  8. 8 primeminister Nov 1st, 2007 at 10:37 am

Yeah, I agree with the comment about looking NORMAL. seriously, that’s unusual these days.

Loved the random Blake appearance ;)

Jordin is beautiful and I don’t mind the song. I wish she would stop clawing at her hair to show how “emotional” she is, but overall, the video was really well done.

Blake’s appearance was very random and sort of bugged me (probably because of the hat. Burn it). I was hoping the cameo would be ***’s chihuahuas, since they were yipping in the background during the whole song.

Well, I thought the video was fun and showed of Jordin’s personality well. BUT (there is always a but), it seemed to have absolutely nothing to do with the song. I thought the song was about somebody who had ended a relationship with a guy and that that guy left an indelible mark on her. This seems like a cute, flirty, “let’s start a relationship” video with a surprise birthday party for the guy at the end.

So, cute video. Okay song. The twain do not meet. For me.

But then, maybe Blake is the dude who left the mark on her heart since she was dancing with him for a few seconds and then was gone and she’s moved onto a new guy who doesn’t wear fugly hats. Still, even though Blake “Broke Anotha” heart, it’s nice he showed up in the video. I like it when the Idols aren’t afraid to admit that they used to be on the show together.

There must be a formula for video’s - doesn’t anyone use their imagination anymore? I think they must just insert the tape into a software that spews out the formula teen-type videos of today: Girl with friends, multiple outfits, boy in background, b&w with tousled hair (yuck to the tousled hair rolling on the ground shots). I was going dizzy with all the shots of Jordin rotating in and out. And then the “clever” moment with Blake. That director must have felt like going to the head of the class with that brilliant but oh so contrived moment. ugh.

I agree with those who say that the vid and the song doesn’t go together, but Jordin did look stunning in the vid and it was really nice to see the B cameo appearance! :D

I was hoping the cameo would be ***’s chihuahuas, since they were yipping in the background during the whole song.

Oh, Cheese - I just woke the office up laughing at that one. How right!

Doesn’t look like Jive had to dig very deep into their pockets to produce that video—one location, few wardrobe changes, small cast, some simple black and white studio shots, minimal content (probably took all of 15 minutes to storyboard) and freebie Idol cameo. I wonder if this is indicative of the rest of the promotion they have planned for Jordin?

  15. 15 abbysee Nov 1st, 2007 at 2:50 pm

Shoot, she did get a video and a single released before the cd. Could be worse.

  16. 16 snuffles Nov 1st, 2007 at 3:37 pm

    Beesims,

I agree. Low budget. Rushed. Totally random Blake cameo (no doubt to promote HIS album). Uninspired. ****SNORE****

    Jordin looked really pretty though!

  17. 17 SueSt Nov 1st, 2007 at 4:16 pm

I think it’s ok. It’s actually better than Kelly C’s Miss Independent or A Moment Like This videos…. She’s trying to cement a video persona… so it may take a few trys.

  18. 18 Trina Nov 1st, 2007 at 4:59 pm

Jordin looks really pretty but it really is a typical teen pop video and it reminds me of early Britney/Jessica videos. I laughed at the random Blake pimping.

  19. 19 hs Nov 1st, 2007 at 5:34 pm

I liked it! I know we’re not suposed to compare, but…man its so much better than Kat’s that its ridiculous. Did TPTB hate Kat and Taylor or what?

  20. 20 star Nov 1st, 2007 at 7:43 pm

I think it’s a nice “intro to Jordin” video. I think I read somewhere that it was directed by Matthew Rolston. That guy is no slouch.

  21. 21 Sarah Nov 1st, 2007 at 8:03 pm

The Blake cameo was really odd. I mean, sure, it was cool to see him in there, but what was the purpose of that? Was it a “so we’re in town at the same time, so why not have a Blake cameo in my video?” Weird.

Anyway, it’s a cute video, but it seemed disjointed. Going from the cute, flirty carousel scenes to the “emotional”, hair-tugging scenes so quickly was a bit weird. She looked gorgeous as always, but I dunno… it kinda left me thinking “how does this relate to the lyrics of the song?”, like it seems a lot of other people thought too.

But, at the same time, it is a pretty good “introductory” video to Jordin. I am starting to like the single more than I originally did. I think I’ll probably end up buying her album when it comes out. I definitely wish her all the luck in the world. :)

Oh man that was an awful vidoe. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jordin, and I think Tattoo is a good song for her, but man what a boring and lame idea. Jordin on a merry go round the whole time? What is she 5? And teh random guy just following her throughout the video, was more creepy then it was cute. The best part was definitely seeing Blake and Jordin together. Nice to finally have a winner and runner up who actually seem like good friends.

  23. 23 pj Nov 1st, 2007 at 8:28 pm

Well, it was cute enough. I don’t think they should be wasting their promotion money on a high-priced video. I think the days of innovative videos are over, anyway. And they got off scot-free on Blake’s wardrobe. I’ve seen that outfit many a time. LOL.

I do agree with the criticisms that the song didn’t match the lyrics, but otherwise, I think it’s a cute video and I’m glad she isn’t trying to sex it up and be someone she’s not. Over all, good job, Jordin!

  24. 24 RightSaidFred Nov 1st, 2007 at 9:25 pm

Yes, it’s juvenile and the story line - what there is of it - has nothing to do with the song. But it’s still far superior to the Season Five winner’s debut video.

  25. 25 marco5ny Nov 1st, 2007 at 9:25 pm

I agree with most of the comments but — and I know I’ll get flack for this — but she seems … um … sort of chunky to me especially in the b&w part when she’s on the floor. I’m not advocating Mary Kate and Ashley size but it wouldn’t hurt to drop a *few* pounds considering her height.

  26. 26 Lu Nov 1st, 2007 at 11:07 pm

I think the video is really cute. I knew I could let my girls watch it because it was Jordin and both of them really liked it too. I was pretty neutral about Jordin during AI6 but I’ve really come to appreciate her. She just seems so real. Her song is growing on me too. Blake at the end of the video - priceless!

  27. 27 primeminister Nov 1st, 2007 at 11:15 pm

Yeah, I like the song better now than I did when I first heard it.

  28. 28 pj Nov 1st, 2007 at 11:27 pm

I think Jordin looks fabulous and I’m glad she’s not a skinny-minnie. She’s healthy (and I don’t mean that as an euphemism).

    I totally agree.

  30. 30 pj Nov 2nd, 2007 at 12:04 am

    I totally agree

I’m off to bed, but it’s good to see a girl her age that is so comfortable in her own skin. I hope it lasts and the pressures of show biz don’t get to her.

  31. 31 heimom Nov 2nd, 2007 at 12:44 am

I think Jordin looks great! I think she makes a great role model for young girls. It’s about time a beautiful girl that isn’t a “stick” person get promoted in the media. I met Jordin during the tour and she is a total sweetheart. The video does seem pretty disconnected from the song but I like the colors & scenes. I didn’t care for the white dress on the floor scenes. Thought the Blake cameo was cute. I am starting to like the song more too.

Wow. Blake being in Jordin’s video was the most random thing EVER. Seriously. WTF

  34. 34 jpfan Nov 2nd, 2007 at 8:26 am

I seriously think the cameo appearance should have been Sanjaya and not Blake. It would have fit the mood of the video and gotten even more buzz.
