Kady Malloy has just released her first post-Idol single, “Broken Dreams” and it’s available now for download on iTunes.Despite having a decent set of pipes, Kady, a Top 24 contestant, had a tough time distinguishing herself from the pack when she competed during the American Idol Season 7 semi-final rounds. It was no surprise that she didn’t advance to the Top 12.
Kady made some poor song choices on the show, and alas, she continues that pattern outside of the Idol bubble. “Broken Dreams” features some impressive vocal moments–Kady hits a couple of Mariah-like high notes at one point–but she needs better material than this to make a real impression.

MJ, your assessment is spot-on. Pretty girl, but as I recall there were like 4 blonds on the show and they all sang out of the same box. But she keeps trying….and I expect KLC to be back on the scene, she’s not giving up…neither is Carly.
I thought that Kady, Alaina Whitaker (one of the other season 7 blonds – the Carrie look-a-like, who I actually kinda liked), and Alaina’s sister were forming some kind of Dixie Chicks-like country trio? I guess not, since Kady’s releasing a solo single to iTunes.
The Kady-Alaina group quickly broke up…in fact, Alaina went on to a new group.
The song is not AMAZING but I’m really glad to see Kady getting music out there. She is very talented and has a very impressie set of pipes, she can certainly outsing a lot of last year’s top 12. I wish her the best and she really seems to have a great attitude and a lot of perseverence so I have a feeling that we will be seeing more of her in the future.
I actually purchased one of Kady’s performances from the show. Her voice is awesome, but the right music is definitely key.
Problem is, most of the show’s fans have probably forgotten her by now.
Hopefully, she does better in the future….
