People magazine reports that Kara DioGuardi got engaged back in December to Mike Cuddy, 34 while vacationing in Mexico.   No wedding date is set yet.

Also, at the American Idol press tour conference held afternoon in Los Angeles, Paula Abdul tells gathered reporters she can’t understand why the press is so interested in her.   Clueless!

But Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly wouldn’t have it any other way.   He said at the TV Critics Association conference today, “Paula’s an integral part of the show…We want to have her as long as the show goes.”

Paula says Kara DioGuardi was a messy roomate. But despite that, they are BFFs forever! And Kara, says Paula, is the best roomate she’s ever had.

By the way, Randy Jackson is boarding the boys train along with Simon Cowell and Kara DioGuardi.   He’s also claiming the boys are better than the girls this year…

Finally, Randy Jackson tells Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show this morning that Simon Cowell needs to date more age appropriate women…like Joan Rivers. Oh bust a gut!
