I feel what ya’ll are saying about Kat going blonde, she’s making a severe statement, AND, as a dedicated, true blue Kat fan; I too questioned what the hell she was doing, and now understand why she’s making this bold statement. She is TOTALLY and completely putting out a new music image, and she’s still very young and having fun, and the true Katharine remains, it’s only hair, afterall. The tracks I’ve already heard are brilliant, and Kat is in her element on her sophomore CD, “Unbroken.”

This video is a mess. Her blonde hair is just wrong. She has a good voice – I’ll give her that and she’s learned to control it better..not as shrill as I remember it.

Wow, I liked it better than I thought I would. It is so perfect for her range. Won’t buy it but I liked it better than anything she’s released before. The blonde in the desert kinda reminded me of China Phillips from Wilson Phillips. She’s just so ’surface’, you know? Superficial. I remember when she auditioned she didn’t seem like that- where did that girl go?

that HAIR. in my opinion, katharine is the most attractive person to grace the idol stage, but what she’s doing now is not working. at all.

She looks like a Robert Plant girl. Madonna rocked this look in the mid-late ’80s (short platinum blonde, heavy eye liner, dark red lips, pale skin). She may think she has “updated” her look, but she’s actually gone retro-dated.

Kara’s songs are always too wordy, like she’s writing an essay instead of musical lyrics. No exception here.

Song sounds more country than pop, but that’s mainly because what used to be pop is now considered country.

Katharine is so hot she could rock a Yul Brenner hairstyle and a burlap potato sack. I’m not sure what the desert has to do with Having It All but a music video is just eye candy to keep the song in your mind…mission accomplished, I would say.

I see nothing wrong with an artist reinventing their image. I commend Kat for the drastic change. I think she looks great! She needs that edge.
Vocally, I always found her too shrill for my ears. At least “Had It All” kept her in a more accepting range.
The video? Her fans will like it. (Who watches videos anyway?!)
The song? Nothing memorable, odd ending. Its popularity will depend on who’s pushing it.

My first thought was it sounded like a Colbie Callait (don’t know if I spelled that right, can’t care enough to find out) song. But Colbie’s lyrics are so much better. I don’t hate the song. I hate the video though. Kat could be blonde if her hair wasn’t the same color as her skin. That just never works. I think it’s truly a horrible look for her.

As far as her sticking to acting? I think her acting is about as good as her singing. As in, who cares? It’s unfortunate because she is beautiful and has a great voice. I just can’t find myself caring much more than to comment on MJ’s.

The video is just scenes of modeling poses – no depth to it whatsoever. Plus, she looks horrible with the blonde hair, chalky white skin and broad shoulders. Guess she’s still trying to find her true self.

My goodness, she’s certainly lost her way. Her beautiful hair is gone and she looks like ghost. I would guess that the last time she had a good meal was last Thanksgiving. That song is not for her, why is she singing a country song. I wasn’t a big fan of hers, but I recognized her talent. This is a mess and it truly shows how desperate she is to make it on in the music business.

The song is just okay, not very memorable and she did not do herself any favors by changing her look that drastically. The red lips look clownish. I do like her voice and she beautiful and all that good stuff but I guess this is where that whole x factor comes into play….she just doesn’t have it, don’t know why but it’s not there.

I just can’t get over the hair long enough to listen to the song. What has she done? I never took Kat seriously because the music just doesn’t seem to come from anywhere inside her, so if she’s not connecting with it, why should I. I’ve never questioned her vocal prowess, but so what?

I see videos like this and I only think about money being flushed down a drain. How much more expensive would have been to have a little plot? A woman losing a good man because she had an affair; or leaving her hometown and family for meaningless fame and glory; or seeking success at work while neglecting her friends and boyfriend; etc …
Instead, some honcho thought: “Hey, Kat is hot, so why not put her on cute outfits to lipsynch to dessert grass and white walls.”

how i miss her old brunette look. i remember her last music video Love Story and she was seriously smokin’ hot. i still think she’s pretty but i want her old look back. having said that, the song’s good and the video is better than Over It.

Yep, pretty much sums it up for me too. My daughter walked in the room just now and asked me why I was listening to country music, lol.

You know, she has a beautiful voice, but there is just nothing distinctive about her. Just another singer singing someone else’s songs. Give the song to Kellie Pickler and you would have the same result.
