It happened today (Saturday) in Beverly Hills, CA. From People Magazine:
Singer-actress Katharine McPhee married producer Nick Cokas on Saturday in Beverly Hills, her rep Justin Gray Stone confirms exclusively to PEOPLE.
The 23-year-old American Idol season five runner-up and Cokas, 42, exchanged vows in a late afternoon ceremony at Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church.
“(Nick) is the love of my life,” McPhee gushed to PEOPLE. “This is a once in a lifetime occasion and everything is just perfect.”
McPhee wore a strapless ivory Manuel Mota gown and Neil Lane jewels (diamond and platinum chandelier earrings and diamond and platinum bracelets), while Cokas wore an Armani tuxedo. Fellow season five Idol contestants Kellie Pickler and Mandisa were among the 305 guests on hand for the nuptials.
People promises exclusive photos and coverage in their magazine next week. Do you think they ponied up the $60,000 for the privilege? Ha. Congratulations to Kat and Nick.

I still loathe the girl, but I have to hand it to her for sticking with this guy when she could have dumped him for some hot Hollywood boytoy (during her fifteen minutes, anyway). I certainly have no ill will for her marriage — although I do think she’s a bit young and I hope she doesn’t rush into anything without thinking it through (i.e., Kat, honey, DON’T GET PREGNANT). And I do, of course, hope that both of them are in it for the right reasons. So congrats to both of them.

A 23 marrying a 42 means it will last a long long time. In hollywood terms anyway….She doesn’t have to be a big star, she only has to continue “working” and making money. I predict (here we go again) he will become her management or co-manager.

Nick obviously is a solid guy who has provided a constant in Kat’s life. They always look very happy when photographed together.

So there you go… this guy stuck with her through all the Idol BS, before, during, and after - all that nastiness, which certainly caused her great angst. How many guys stick by a girl through thick and thin? Really! I may not particularly care for Kat, but I say good for her. This appears to be what she wanted and I wish them a long, happy life. And if she wants kids right away, so what. And I think it’s cool Kellie and Mandisa were there.

What I do suggest is that he’s very close to past his prime and she hasn’t hit hers yet - in every area of her life - not only meal ticket.
As it stands, she is looking at lots of future potential, he isn’t — a May-December relationship. Even TMZ has picked up on his sudden interest when she started to find fame on AI. ( go on — snicker

I am not longer really following Kat’s career but I’m glad she stuck with Nick as well. He does seem like a decent guy. She definitely could have gotten more publicity by dating some hollywood dude, but she didn’t.
