Katharine McPhee to Appear on CSI

CSI can’t get enough of those American Idols!   On the heels of a Chris Daughtry guest appearance, (where he played the baddass version of Mac Taylor) Katharine will guest to play…a singer!   What a stretch.

Music careers are so 2008. Following in the footsteps of Chris Daughtry, American Idol alum Katharine McPhee has booked a guest gig on CSI: NY.In an episode tentatively scheduled to air in April, the singer will play… er, a singer. There will even be a scene in which she is… wellà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ singing. All kidding aside, the prime-time appearance is actually bringing McPhee back once again to her roots — she was an actress first, then a recording artist. (Recently, you’ve probably seen her opposite Anna Farris in The House Bunny.)

Katharine is also set to co-star in the romantic comedy Wedlock opposite Brothers & Sisters’ Dave Annable.

CSI is becoming the new broadway.

Good for her in finding continued work.

This is turning into a great year for Katharine. New label, new CD, leading roles in 2 films, TV guest spots, she is still seen a lot on PBS with the David Foster Special and beginning Feb 28th she will be all over PBS again with the Chris Botti Live in Boston special airing all month.

Thins are definitely going great in McPhee land!

  • can’t believe it’s been 4 hours and there’s only one comment.

I can Carie. I almost didn’t click, but I was bored.

Now I’ve got to watch another hour of prime time episodic television. I’m giddy.

I love CSI: NY. Its the only CSI I can get into. I cannot get into the others (though I think a big draw for me is Eddie Cahill and that guy that plays Danny). I read somewhere they were going to up the guest stars, I guess they weren’t kidding. I can’t really say I’m excited about Katharine’s appearance, because I’m not, but good for her.

I really thought she would have had a music career. Hopefully the acting works out for her.

    Good for Katharine!

But, my daughter’s not going to like it. CSI: NY is her favorite show and Kat her least-favorite idol contestant of all time. I can’t wait to wake her up and tell her! :twisted_wp: (Yeah, I know it’s almost noon, but she had the day off.)

Good for Katharine. But I don’t get her appeal … as a singer or as an actress. Just my opinion.

Picture from the set with a description of her role. It seems to be a pretty substantial part! I am really looking forward to this.

Also can’t wait for the new CD later this year!

I detest the CSI franchise, but I’d love to see Kat match wits with the dreadful David Caruso. Too bad she’s not going to “Miami.” My 12-year-old and I love Daughtry, but the little bit we watched of his appearance on CSI was so bad, we had to change the channel. Maybe Kat can land a role on Law & Order. That’s where all the New York talent hangs out to make a quick buck.
