Thanks to Sparkles for alerting me to Kellie Pickler’s appearance on the Bonnie Hunt Show yesterday. Somehow I completely missed this. Luckily, I found her performance on You Tube, and you can watch it after the JUMP.

thx–good to see her. I like her personality more than her singing. For her, it is a good performance, but she has such a nasally voice, which is pretty common in country artists, so I maybe it doesn’t hurt her?
Does anyone else think she looks 10 years older here than she actually is? She’s about 21, but looks 31 or older–like she could fit right in with the Sex and the City quartet.
ETA–Just saw the medley by the AI gang. It’s very 70s-ish, like those Bing Crosby and Andy Williams TV specials. But it’s worth a listen just to hear Chikezie on harmony. He’s got really good voice that blends great. Kimberly Locke also sounds really good–although I still detest her for what she said about Jason.

Good for her. She’s really quite charming. I’m glad that she’s doing well.
She’s also lost a lot of weight though, her cheeks look rather gaunt. I just hope she doesn’t lose much more. She’s a cute girl.
Her make-up and color of her outfit makes her look 40. Her singing is surprisingly good though!
Her singing was technically excellent, but that song is pretty playful and I was surprised she seemed kind of serious most of the way through it. She hit all her notes right on which is better than she did when she was on the show. I missed seeing her casual fun side, though.
The way she’s wearing her hair makes her look a lot older too.

Hmm…..she looks kind of thin and the blond hair is stringy….she sounded OK, not the best performance of somebody singing that song….I wonder if she’s having medical problems? And I don’t mean “medical”, but Medicinal….did you notice her bobbies have shrunk?
Her voice is much better than I remember. I’m not a big fan of that country twanginess but it was very good.
But something is wrong with her face/eyes. It’s almost like she’s on something.
I can’t help but flove her.
Don’t love her current look, but I still have a serious soft-spot for the pickler.
She is gorgeous, it’s the excessive makeup that makes her look old. I like her little outfit though, you go girl.
She almost looks gaunt, and I don’t care for her hair at all. In fact, I think she looks ill. Singing was better than I expected, though.
I’m getting a similiar vibe from her as some of you. Technically, her voice was ok. Performance-wise, though, it did nothing for me. I, too, feel like something is off with her. Where is her bubbly self? She could have filled the song with those bubbles, but instead I saw a singer going through the motions. She looks about twice her age – combination of hair, make-up, but also her gaunt face and look in her eyes. I have no idea what is going on with her, but she doesn’t appear to be in a healthy state, to me.
Her album isn’t selling very well and her single is stalled on the charts. With the bad economy and the record labels in trouble, maybe she’s stressed and worried about being dropped next year? She does look haggard and doesn’t seem like herself anymore.
^^ I doubt she’s too stressed. She scored the opening spot on Taylor Swift’s headlining tour. That should help her quite a bit.
I thought the performance was cute and sweet. I guess I really didn’t notice any physical problems with the way she looked–pretty as always.
I didn’t watch Season 5, (I know – gasp!), so Kellie doesn’t do much for me. I did see her do an interview on Ellen once upon a time though, and she was cute and funny. I love, love, love me some Chikezie, though, and I thought he was by far the best of that little quartet.
Suzanne, could you refresh my memory as to what KL said about Jason? I love him to death and don’t take too kindly to anyone disparaging him. :nono_tb:
I thought Kellie did a great job on that song. Her personality lends itself to this kind of playful, sexy song.
Her voice is way too nasally for my liking. Her hair looks horrible too. Has it always been a white blonde? The way she styled it makes her look older. I do like what she is wearing.
She’s adorable, and headlining for Taylor Swift is going to do wonderful things for her career. I love Pickler.
Being in show biz is stressful, yes, and she may be feeling the stress of the album not doing well….and she’s just “another blond” country singer and competing with a younger Taylor Swift. She needs new management. She needs a TV show. And she needs to stop taking whatever pills she’s taking.
I too have a soft spot for Pickler – this was a good vocal performance but I miss her spunk. Opening for Taylor will be great for her! Hope they come to my city.
Kellie’s looking creepier every time I see her. Honestly, I thought that look her “new look” was some kind of Halloween get up the first time that I saw it.
This is not a tough song to sing but it is better than most of her live vocals.
