Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire Perform on Oprah

Reba McEntire’s album of duets dropped this week.  She and Kelly Clarkson have made Kelly’s hit song, “Because of You” a hit all over again on country radio.  Kelly and Reba met in 2002 when they sang together on a post-season Idol special. They’ve been fast friends ever since.  Reba’s husband, Narvel Blackstock, is currently Kelly’s manager.  Here they are performing on Oprah:

More Kelly news:  Apparently, “Never Again” is getting “massive airplay” in Australia.  Kelly has announced she will tour there next year.

Kelly is such a GREAT Talent, it’s smart to manage her. Clive better hold on tight!

I watched this show yesterday with dcd(thanks to my dvr).

Reba and Kelly were really great and both have such likable, down to earth personalities. What surprised me was Justin Timberlake. He was really quite charming and funny and I actually enjoyed his part on the show also. His duet with Reba was very good.
Hell has officially frozen over. I never thought there would be a day when I liked JT. :doh_tb:

Koolmom…I went to the recent JT concert with my daughter and we had standing room near the stage for the whole show.. Boy was I tired.. but….boy.. was JT entertaining! He has so much charisma and put on quite a show. He has this “hip” vibe that comes across in his dance and his singing and piano playing was a pleasant surprise for me. I loved it when he would just stop singing and just danced with his dancers but I’m more of a “performance” person. If you sing well but have zero charisma you lose me.

Kelly and Reba are awesome ladies. I can imagine Kelly on some talk show in 20 years mentoring some young singer the way Reba is mentoring her.

The Oprah bump here we come! Reba and JT will have a big bounce on the chart next week. Not sure about Kelly. BTW, why does she look so puffy? :huh_tb:

Puffy? Do you mean chunky? She’s a chunky little girl. I’m not loving that blond hair though.

Also, this just came across the wire about record companies and touring:

I’m glad Kanye had a good sales week, that gives other artist a boost to know that CDs are not in a slump.

ack I hate that women’s weight is such a topic with women. After Brittany’s disasterous performance, all over TV and radio the women critized her weight and the guys praised her figure. Kelly looks great — and the song and interview were terrific.

I agree, Kelly looks great. Thank God she’s not stick thin like most Hollywood-ites.

My roommate called me into the living room last night when she was watching the show on our dvr, and I saw both of the performances with Reba. I thought they were both great. Who woulda ever imagined that JT could write a country song? I’m liking him more every day.

Yes, I agree Kelly looks great and I think her hair looked cute, too.

Thanks for posting it, MJ. :)

Great duet — sweet team, 52 and 25. Soulmates!

Women’s weight isn’t solely an issue with women. It’s been my experience that every man out there, particularly the porky ones — idolize skinny women. Then women get into.. . .. well, she’s fatter than me mode — right bubba?

    ack.

    That segment totally worked.
Kelly’s great, playing second fiddle to Reba. Never got in the way.
‘Irvine’ off My December. Unbelievable. Worth releasing the CD just for that one.
