Ha! I found this at the New York Vulture blog. Some Kelly Clarkson demos leaked at this blog. Probably for legal reasons, the blogger took them down. However, one of the blog commenters uploaded them to a download site. Warning - download site not exactly SFW. You’ll find those links in the comments section, plus a really interesting conversation. Hint: It’s very typical of blog comments when Idol fans ATTACK! Heh.
The demos are supposedly meant for her next album. I downloaded them and took a listen:
- “Close your eyes” - I like this. It’s got a folk/country feel to it.
- “One Day” - Pretty ballad. This is closer to what she did on My December.
- “Ready” - Kind of Jewel-ish
- “With a Little Bit of Luck” - Very catchy chorus-this could be a single.
Kelly’s still singing about tough times, but with some optimism. The tracks are rough, but they are promising.

Once again, these demos sound like My December part 2. If she wrote these songs she needs to let the song writing go. The only one, or part of one i liked, was Ready from 1min to the end. Anyone know if she wrote these? HUge fan of Kelly pre-My December but for some reason she faded in my mind. Just sing blues kelly. and stop yelling and saying the word sober in your songs.
It’s amazing how many people keep posting about these songs. They weren’t leaked they were stolen.

Stolen Demos
about the recent “theft” of our demos…
first, to you who hacked in and stole them: you call yourself a fan? ive got another word for you.
this has all caused a great deal of frustration. remember that artists are people too and value their privacy…especially when it comes to something thats in the process FOR THE FANS.
its unfortunate that so many people DONT get it and continue to steal from the rightful owners, when ultimately its the fans that we do it all for. alot of hard work goes into preparing a song for a fans enjoyment…nothing is more frustrating to an artist than to have their work revealed before it has been completed to the artist’s satisfaction and completed vision.
i know its hard not to listen when its right there, but i ask that you please not post songs or links out of respect for the owners of the “stolen” property as well as condemn those who shamelessly continue to disrespect the artist they claim to be fans of.
im truly sad that such people share this planet, that toss respect and privacy aside for their own selfish indulgence…only to be the “first” to have it, or be the “cool, hip” person. ugh.
thanks in advance for doing the right thing. true, respectful fans are appreciated more than you know.

I haven’t listened to the songs, so I wouldn’t know if they sound like any of the songs from My December, but listening to what Kelly says about her music she tries to put out something different everytime. If Kelly put out a Breakway album everytime she wouldn’t grow as an artist and I’m sure people would then stop buying her CDs because they would all sound the same. Atleast she is looking outside the box.
That didn’t take long. lol.
“Close Your Eyes” sounds really pretty, I like when Kelly sings like this.
I don’t know if I will listen cause, well just because. I think leaking is usually a good thing, as if it’s good stuff it can create a good buzz.
I am so glad that Kelly did My December, it was an incredible piece of work. I hope that in the future it will be looked upon in a new light. Even if it sucked which for me it didn’t I always appreciate a persons attempt at personal and professional growth. I think this is how masterpieces are invented, not when conforming.
tinfoil hat time….anybody else think maybe the “leak” was intentional??? for what it’s worth this is a great way to create buzz and whet the appetites of fans. I imagine Kelly and Aben are both very aware of what the internet can do for them, and I think they’d be smart to use it. a little feedback during the songwriting process can be invaluable, and who better to get it from than the fans.
haven’t been able to listen yet, must wait ’til I get home. but, I PROMISE, I WILL BUY THE ALBUM when it comes out, I PROMISE. please don’t yell at me for checking out a preview.
Oh my gosh! Are these definitely for her new album (or could they be leftovers from the MD sessions?)? I want to know if Ryan Tedder wrote any of these.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE close your eyes! Her voice sounds amazing, i cant wait to here what the new album will sound like. Im still a little dissapointed on how my december did, It was actually my favorite out of the 3 albums she released. Oh well she’s still AMAZING
I didn’t listen. I’ll wait. I’ll always feel that Kelly is the only one to come from AI that is versatile enough to fit in any genre. She’s not in a box like …well - you know..
I look forward to whatever she does no matter what it is.
these tracks are just her playing around with her band, that wasn’t supposed to get but unfortunately did. I would be surprised if they actually ended up on her next album b/c Clive seems to have final say this time.
