Didn’t I say that more would be revealed in the Kelly Clarkson saga? That didn’t take long.
Right on the heels of firing her management team, Kelly has announced that her summer tour has been postponed. According to a message Kelly posted on her website:
In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won’t be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon.
From Kelly’s rep,
”[T]icket sales have not been what we anticipated and we came to the realization that we had bit off more than we could chew.
Slow ticket sales that would have not been helped by an album that is already suffering from negative word-of-mouth before it is even released. What’s next? “My December is set to be released June 26. I would not be surprised if the CD were pulled for some “re-tooling”…

*sigh* I hope this album isn’t pushed back. I want a new Kelly Clarkson cd in my hands on June 26. Sure, cancelling the tour sucks, but it’s really not going to be good for her if she cancels the tour and then pulls the album on top of that. Fans are not going to be happy.
This has not been a good week for Kelly. Or, maybe it has in her eyes. But it’s not looking like it to those of us on the “outside”.
*double sigh*
The plot thickens even more …

I can’t wait for the “Hollywood ending” ..
Evidently, Kelly is now being represented by Paul Freundlich.
I suspect they are in full damage control mode.
Wow, this just keeps getting nuttier. What a shame for her fans.
Paul was the guy “explaining” the Faith Hill incident at the CMAs when Carrie Underwood won while, backstage, Faith was shown pretending to be mad about it. I also found a press release (about the Starbucks’ deal) which indicates he is Sir Paul’s manager.
I found PFA’s website. Their other clients are listed as: Faith Hill, James Taylor, Keith Urban, Paul McCartney, Five for Fighting, Prince, etc. Seems like a good agency.

Paul Freundlich is a publicist aka a spin doctor. She has yet to hire new management. Some think she may go with Simon Renshaw.
