Kimberly Caldwell – Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade – VIDEO
More Idol Thanksgiving goodness! Season 2 Idol, and TV Guide Channel personality, Kimberley Caldwell performed at yesterday’s Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day parade sponsored by ABC 6 and Ikea.
Kimberly recently signed with Vanguard records, and is expected to release an album next year.
I don’t think the song she performed is her next single–it’s like some really bad 80’s music going on right there.

She is such a Barbie doll. When she doesn’t want to be recognized, she probably just removes her eye makeup.
Huh… I actually thought that wasn’t bad at all. Sounded like a cross between Pat Benatar, Kelly and Pink. Not sure it’s my thing but it didn’t sound bad to me. This is the kind of song I would have expected from Allison, maybe with a bit more bite in the guitars, but overall even though I’m not sure it’s my thing I thought it wasn’t bad.
Not the best song I’ve ever heard, but she did okay with it. And I LOVE the Philly Thanksgiving day parade. One of my all-time favorites!
I know it’s popular to dislike her, but I can’t help it, I find her kind of adorable.
My thoughts exactly. I won’t say that I loved it, but I actually thought it sounded good and not dated. And it’s the style that suits her, angry chick rocker.
We’ll see what other songs she has, but not a bad start.

I’ve always liked her voice, but she’s been saying her album would be “released soon” for about 17 years now, hasn’t she?
I think she’s cute too and she’s got a fun personality. She does a great job on the “Idols Wrap” show with Justin Guarini. I always looked forward to that.
I would guess yes. Lip-synching is actually pretty common in parades. Definitely difficult to adjust the acoustics on a moving parade float. Although I have seen people sing live in a parade before – I just think it’s a very hard thing to get right under those circumstances.
I liked it…may not be the best song but her voice sounds really cool…

It does sound dated – no modern elements and too repetitive – with no gut behind it.
But I can see why you say that, because of her vocal tone and thats cool.
Wait till you hear Alli’s Holiday and No One else.
She looks really artificial in that picture. I guess it’s stage makeup maybe?
She’s got a a wonderfully husky voice, and I’m one who finds her adorable, too. Plus, I will always respect her for her discretion in regard to wjmtv’s next husband.
(Not meaning to be snarky, but I am curious if she’s always had that husky quality, or if smoking did it.)
ITA. I never understood all the hate directed at her when she was dating wjmtv’s next husband. She’s fun on the Idol show and she and Justin have good chemistry together. I feel like she’ll have a better career developing the TV personality angle than the music angle, but this song isn’t terrible, by any means.
The song’s ok, not bad, and ,yes, she has been talking about the album for a long time.
I never understood the hate towards her as well. I actually stopped reading boards last year because of it. She’s always been extremely hard working and does have a fun personality. I also believe she’s better at tv, but this is her dream and I’m really glad she’s going for it.
Ugh. I thought that song was hideous. And I didn’t resent her at all when she was dating wjmtv’s future husband. She was very discreet, both during and after, for which I give her a lot of credit. But I never liked her voice much, and that song just sounded like a lot of shouting.

The song isn’t my favorite but I’m rooting for Kim to do well. She’s taken a lot of grief -some self-inflicted but much of it for petty, catty reasons-and hasn’t given up on herself when many others would have thrown in the towel.
Considering the lyrics, maybe she’s singing TO wjmtv’s next husband…
Still don’t like her…just too brassy…or sumthin… too me. I predict she looks like Nanny Fine’s mother in a few years.
