Understated, low key and adorable. How refreshing. He will grow into these AI champ shoes and turn out to be a much better Idol than so many people thought he might be when he won. Kris will do it the old fashioned way… with talent and putting out good music. If he is hard working that will seal the deal (see David Cook).
Regarding KIIS-FM. They play Kelly & Pink because they’re really pop with backing tracks. LLWD might end up on KIIS the way Crush did, but it’s not likely to stick around long there (Crush went away after 3 months). Kris is kind of a soft to medium pop-rock and so he will do well on KBIG. Give KBIG time. They are VERY late to add music – especially new music. LO was added around this time last year, when Cook’s album dropped. TOML was added 6 weeks after most HAC stations over the summer of ‘08. The only song KBIG added quickly was CBTM because Cook had two successful singles on KBIG (LO & TOML hit #1 on their yes.com chart position and stayed there for a while). I think Kris will have no problem getting on KBIG now that LLWD is in the top 20 on HAC. They LOVE Idols and even play Elliott.
Kris is getting like not much attention from the media except those 2. For Adam it’s the reverse. So I think there is nothing to complain about.

Cookcricket, you sure you’ve heard KOL KIIS? If so, that’s a shift for them. Kelly, Pink & Taylor Swift are about as non-rhythmic as they get – I guess I can see Taylor Swift. I have never heard any rock on there so KOL surprises me. They have NEVER played Daughtry or Cook. Or even Nickelback. It’s mostly T.I., Justin Timberlake, Jordin Sparks, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Usher, etc. They are not mainstream CHR, they’re rhythmic CHR.

As you can see, when it comes to non-hip hop solo artists, they like the girls but not the boys. No Jason Mraz, no John Mayer, no DMB, and I don’t think you’ll see Kris Allen. Adam Lambert is doing dance music and there’s a good chance he will end up on KIIS-FM and KBIG. We’ll see how his adds & pickups go. Right now, IMO, there’s a lot of confusion over two RCA singles and one movie single. When the dust settles, stations will likely add the newest single because that’s what RCA is requesting for impact.

He may not have rabid fans (except me, apparently) but he does
have loyal fans and his kind of music will always attract new
listeners (so will his beautiful face & his charming interviews).

I’m becoming more rabid by the minute. I feel all the pains that the media and all the haters inflicted on him, but that’s OK, better me than him.
