Kris Allen to Appear on Letterman, Recorded a TV Show Track and Cover
A couple of little Kris Allen tidbits here:
Kris is scheduled to appear on the The Late Show with David Letterman on December 16. Awesome gig.
Plus, Kris recently spent time in the studio “recording a track for a tv show and a cool cover song.” This, according to radio DJ Brodie (@brodie957) of 95.7 FM, who interviewed Kris today in the studio.
I wonder if the cool cover song is the Idol boot song for Season 9? Hmmm.
Kris is also scheduled to appear on the So You Think You Can Dance Results Show, Wednesday, December 9 on FOX, The Walt Disney World Christmas Parade on December 25 On ABC, and Fox TV’s New Years Eve special on December 31. Plus Kris is set to perform in a slew of radio holiday Jingle Balls.

OK, here’s a tidbit. The Auditorium seats almost 4,000 people and has three levels. Kris gave a shout out to the people on the third level balconies and then asked them in deadpan way “Please don’t fall down. It’s really high up there.”

I went on The Fray’s official site, and there are no future tour dates listed aside from the various JingleBall type concerts they are playing this month. They have been on tour since April, playing both in the US and overseas, so they may want to take a break before heading out on their next tour.

I am thrilled that Kris was so well received and is gaining new fans. He’s in it for the long haul and I’m confident he will get his due.
One thing I think Jive is sorely lacking on is seeing that his official site is updated and that his bios and pics floating around are correct and flattering. I noticed the Sacramento radio website promo for their Jingle Ball said he was an AI Season 8 top 13 finalist and listed him as a shoe salesman and worship leader. These people didn’t even know he WON? This is the job of his PR and management. They should also have posters and promotional items of him sent to the stores and at his appearances.
They don’t have any merchandise available either — I saw a tweet about that from last night’s concert. The Fray, on the other hand, have LOTS of merchandise

I thought it was odd that NC (my state) shows no adds. I don’t listen to radio much, but I guess I need to start calling. Gah.
Really ?? Along with Red Guitar, The Truth is my absolute favorite.
The whole album is on repeat anyway, but I kept going back to track #4. The way his lower register on”….when the floor beneath your feet is crumbling , the walls…. tumbling …” kills me.
Kris’s lower register always kills me! On most of the songs on the album I’d like to delete the part where he reaches for the high notes. I hate to hear him strain his voice like that. It’s just not pleasant for me–I’m sure I’m in the minority on that though. But in all honesty, I would be totally happy with straight-across-the-board-completely-low-register songs.

Me too. His lower register is the sexiest thing. And I love his talking voice, he kinda keeps that on the lower register too… sexy!
I think the only sour note in the album is “Better than MeeeeEEeeeEEE” in Heartless. I’m still astounded they actually kept it, why didn’t they make him redo it or why didn’t Kris offer to redo it.
I find the lyrics to ‘The Truth’ a bit too dramatic, with the ‘avalanche’ & ‘elephant in the room’ etc. All the metaphors & phrases, it distracts me from the actual emotion of the song. If it hadn’t been for Kris’ vocals, I’d pass on this one.
Diane, thanks for the CSA link. It’s weird watching Kris perform CSA sitting down. I just want him to throw the guitar, grab the mic, and bounce about! (LOL! Even with him sitting down, the KFoot lives!)

Really hope that he will be doing the idol boot song cos I can’t think of any reason why he would need to record a cover song. Or probably it’s for the Idol Giveback theme song next season. Anyway, any publicity in a show with millions of viewers is good and serves as a reminder that he is the ACTUAL winner heh. The recording of song for a TV show is a smart move too since it might expose him to viewers who dun watch AI.

i love it when he performs MITM cos for one thing its such a great song and so full of meaning and also, its the first song we saw kris sing on the show. way back when he was the cute no-body cannon-fodder. i think kris’s performance of this song only gets better and better.
