Kris Allen To Perform in the Philippines in February?
The peeps who booked David Cook and David Archuleta in Manila last year, are announcing via twitter, that Kris Allen will be performing two dates in the Philippines in February.
According to the Music Management Intl. twitter, Kris Allen and the dance group Jabbawockeez will perform in Cebu on February 5, 2010 and McKinley Hill Concert Grounds in Manila on February 6.
David Cook, David Archuleta, Michael Johns, Taylor Hicks and Elliott Yamin are some of the Idols who have headed to the Philippines to perform after their Idol runs.
I don’t know if this gig is set in stone, but I’ll post more news when it’s available.

Yes in deed!
It’s likely that I will probably see him live before I can get hold of his Authographed CD that I bought from Amazon. There’s not much AI advert here in Hongkong. SuBo has big posters ads though with her debut CD.
I have not heard Kris on the radio here, but I heard ‘No Boundaries’ on the radio during my last visit to Malaysia. I think he is popular there too and Singapore.
Inspite of not having much publicity, Kris is doing better than just fine!
MJ’s doing a great job for all of Kris’ fans. I wish and hope that all the other fans support their fellow countryman and support such an exceptionally talented young lad like Kris. It’s so sad to read all the bashing in some other site. (excuse my sentiments)!
Great gigs for Kris. I hope he gets to do TV guestings with either ABS-CBN or GMA (although personally, I like ABS-CBN more). GMA got exclusive coverage of the Davids this year. But I watch TFC shows here in the U.S. esp. ASAP (popular variety show in the Philippines) and would live to see Kris perform there.
Good for you. You will finally get to see Kris perform all those great ballads from the album. I’ve always thought that Kris’ debut album will do well in the Philippines as Filipinos love ballads and pop/rock type of music. I mean Journey’s new lead singer Arnel Pineda is Pinoy.
I don’t know about Japan, but I do know that American Idol is popular here in the Philippines. So, there you go.
Nice to hear from folks in the Phillipines, Hong Kong, etc.!
When I read how some of you are willing to travel great distances, at some inconvenience, to see and hear Kris, I felt weird that, a few weeks ago, I had been thinking, “Why did I ever get these tickets? Now I have to drive an hour both ways and I don’t feel like it.” Haha. Drive an hour!
Of course, after I saw Kris and his band live, I was thinking, “Sooo glad I got those tickets!!!” Don’t miss the chance to see him if you can.
So excited for those of you in the Phillipines who get to go! Kris is doing so well right now, I’m so proud of him. <3
Kris would definitely be in the top 5 sexiest idols now, haha. He doesn't even look like the same person as he did when he first started AI. It's weird.
mrsdarcy – Don't let it make you sad, sweetie, there will always be haters no matter who the artist.
It is kinda weird although perhaps it’s a marketing strategy to draw more people? Jabbawockeez have been here before and are somewhat considered sentimental faves because its members are Filipino-Americans…
Regardless, I can’t wait! Maybe the Jabbawockeez will do some dance interpretation of LLWD
We have to subscribe ‘Starworld’ from NOW TV (Cable Networks) to watch AI here in Hongkong and so with the GMA Pinoy channel.
AI is popular amongst the expats community here. SuBo has more publicity because Hongkong then was one of the UK’s commnwealth country …Simon Cowell is British you see.
It’s probably about time for Mr. Seacrest to help and do more on the publicity management for the American idols.
(Nite to all.. have to go back to writing School Reports to pay for those tickets!! Haha)
The Davids went to this gig. I guess they won’t book Adam for this gig because Adam will get all of the attention and will outshine Kris performance wise.
I think Kris deserves his own gig here, it is good the producers did not do a back-to-back concert like the Davids. Both Adam and Kris have good fanbases here in the Philippines and both should have their own time with their idols. It’s more epic that way =)
Very happy for Kris fans here, it is wonderful that they are seeing him live this soon! It’s very “astig” (cool)!!!
I think the Kradison concert should be the last of back-to-back concerts. These guysareall talented in their own way and should be allowed to shine and gain their individual fans.
mrsdarcy, I love your name! P&P is one of my favorite movies. And you are one dedicated Kris fan!!
I agree. I hate this idea when I first heard it. I’m already dreading the stupid comparisons that will eventually occur.
But in my opinion, nobody can outshine Kris.
While Adam IS more popular here, Filipinos generally love musicians with an acoustic sound like Kris. Plus, we’re too polite to not cheer for everyone performing on stage.
I’ll be there – Manila or Cebu!!! (I hope the office don’t send me somewhere else on those days. What do i say to my boss? i want to see Kris Allen first, it is important!:) )
If they are playing in Singapore or HK or Malaysia, then I may suddenly visit my friends there too! Woohoo!
AI S8 Hollywood Week started rerun in Star World (cable channel). Just saw HW round 1 last night and, of course, no signs of Kris there. Heh. Group numbers tonite so hope to see White Chocolate with Matt & Kris.
Happy New Year everyone!
The company that’s organizing the event twitted:
musicmgmtintl
more artists will be joining the febfest
So, the format might be similar to those jingle balls Kris has been attending with him and jabawockeez being the headliners. I hope he does more than just 7 songs. But, Ill take whatever I can get. Hehehe.
