Kris Allen to Perform at Miami Dolpins Game Sunday, Rehearsing With his New Band

Kris Allen will be the main act at the Dolphins’ tailgate stage on the Grand Plaza on Sunday, October 25th prior to the Dolphins-Saints game at 4:15 p.m.

“As a HUGE football fan I’m thrilled that the first gig for my band and me is at the Miami/New Orleans tailgate party for this Sunday’s game,” says Kris.

Speaking of Kris’s band, he tweeted yesterday, “Done with first day of band rehearsal. Sounds sick! Seriously you will throw up.

Um. OK. I’ll bring my barf bag. Ha.

Kris shot the music video for his single “Live Like We’re Dying” over the weekend.   He’s only spilled a couple of deets: The story revolves about “time” and takes place in the desert. Hm.

According to a recent radio interview, the track list for the album, Kris Allen, was decided yesterday.

“could the fact that Cookie’s debut was on Popeater and not Z100 accounted for the difference in AI? Just asking.” — ksgirlfordc

Kris is fortunate that Z100 got behind LLWD. At first, I wasn’t sure if they were going to give it spins at all. Many naysayers downplayed the whole z100 promotion, but it did work out for Kris. DC had many more promotional advantages than Kris, TOML had established DC in HAC and AC. People were hearing DC on the radio. I believe DC had a far more rabid fanbase, giving him that stellar first week sales total. Six of one, I suppose. DC became HAC’s golden boy and unfortunately not POP/Top 40 which has a higher AI. Kris got NY’s WPLJ #1 HAC add today. Hopefully, LLWD gains spins there as well.

I certainly am a novice here, learning as I go along. I think Kris will be just fine. As far as, David Cook, I’m hoping for some kick-ass rock next CD.

NewFan “It’s funny. I never get a worried sense about Kris, no matter what. I just have a feeling that he’s always going to land on his feet, do great and have a great life as well. Can’t figure out why I feel this ‘ ¦ I just do.”

Thank you NewFan for saying that as you make me feel a lot better as I have been worried about Kris… I don’t know why… esp. after seeing his sale numbers on LLWD… But you’re right, no need to worry as he did win afterall.. even after being put down so much throughout of the season 8 and without much media attention, he still won in the end… So hopefully same thing will happen again and his album will sell well enough for him to get the chance to do more future albums. I can’t wait for his album!

does anyone know if we get to see any of this concert if we aren’t in Miami? (Is any of it broadcast? ) When watching football games on TV, I’ve never seen any of the “tailgate party.” do you think that the broadcast cuts to the tailgate party concert during the pre-game show? (I’d like to see Kris get some national exposure to a wide audience. There’d be a lot of people watching the game who have probably never seen Kris.)

Thanks TwigLA for the link to the Dolphins press release. Very nice. And much better than a bio I saw yesterday written for Kris at StubHub (I was looking for tickets for the Chicago Fray concert). It described Kris as being “born and raised in the backwoods of Arkansas”!! What? Is he, Davy Crockett? Too funny. It also went on to say that Kris “…has been a bonafide popstar, rising from his hometown in Arkansas to start a nationwide takeover thanks to songs like “No Boundaries”. His AI fame has been eclipsed by a successful solo career…” I’m all for a nationwide takeover, but it’s still a bit premature to pronounce his solo career successful. He’s on his way, though, slow and steady. Yeah.

(And darn, those tickets are out of my price range, with two kids in college. Wish I’d jumped on them sooner. Kris will just have to come back to the area on his “successful” tour!)

  • gulfluv:

So suburban Little Rock is now “the backwoods of Arkansas”? Haha! Nationwide takeover due to “No Boundaries”? Those bio writers at least get points for creativity.
I love this picture, Kris is just SO pretty! I would love to see all the pics from that photo shoot, as I’ve loved everything I’ve seen so far. I can’t wait to hear his album, especially the songs he wrote himself. I hope they show some of his concert on TV this Sunday. At least some vids should show up this weekend.

  • Mtlfan:

hosiermama, you make me start my day with a big laugh… thanks :)

so the album is all done!!! that’s great.. ready for any leaks..

  • tripp_ncwy:

They finally changed Kris’s picture on his official website to his album cover and not that tired old AI photo. Now if they would just get rid of the LLWD photo art with the actual single cover.

I check the football site and if you bought tickets to the game, you’ll see Kris performing too. So I guess he’ll play in the stadium which is quite a nice exposure. I might be wrong but this is how I understood this.

Kris is scheduled to play on the Grand Plaza stage — that is on the south side of the Stadium and open to general ticket holders. They open it 4 hours before the game, it has a sports bar and the Tailgate stage. But he is not performing in the stadium.

There are two big tailgate shows before the Dophins game — the one that Kris is performing at and a second one on the northside of the Stadium for Season Ticketholders. There are also over 1,000 tailgates in the Dolphins tallgate parking lot which is designed for tallgates.

I have season tickets for the Dolphins (I used to live in South Florida) but I am not feeling well so I may have to pass on this one. Too bad particurly because Kris is premiering some of his new songs.
