Kris Allen’s “Live Like We’re Dying” to Debut on Z100 Monday Morning

Michael Slezak of EW has been listening to Kris Allen’s new single “Live Like We’re Dying” since Tuesday, and he floves it.

…the good folks at Jive sent a don’t-leak-under-threat-of-death link to one of my colleagues ‘” and Kris, who admitted to me during his Idol tour stop in Albany last month that he loves surprising people with his musical choices, shows a new and impressive level of vocal adroitness on the rapid-fire chorus, without missing an emotional beat in the process. Suddenly, the idea of the nation collectively rolling down its windows and chanting ‘You’ve only got eighty-six-four-hundred seconds in a day to/ Turn it all around or throw it all away/ Gotta tell ‘em that we love ‘em while we got the chance to say’ ¦’ seems not only plausible, but entirely likely.

The rest of us have had to settle for a 22 second clip, but fear not, we’ll all hear it soon.   New York’s Z100 will be premiering the song on Monday, September 21, at 7:40 am ET.

I’ll get up early for that…

Mary102 I think it’ll be really interesting, now, to hear what the rest of the album is like. This song sounds exactly like a ‘Kris song’ to me ‘“ which leads me to wonder, are the other tracks going to be similar, or will they take it into other directions ‘“ and if so, where? Romantic, emo, light-hearted, fun, angsty? Hmm’ ¦

    Waves Mary!!!

I actually think that any song that Kris does will be a Kris song, I mean he makes it a Kris song, who would have guessed that Kayne’s Heartless or Donna Summer’s SWHFTM would become Kris songs… :D

After the tour, it’s difficult for me to go back to the songs that he sang and not imagine them as being his…
