LA Auditions are Today: Crying Girl Ashley Ferl is Auditioning.

Poor Brandon Rogers!   He twittered from the Los Angeles auditions a few minutes ago, “This is but an example of the ridiculousness that is The LA Idol auditions. Behold! ”   Ha ha.

The La Times’s Richard Rushfield is there too, and reports that “Crying Girl”, Ashley Ferl, arrived to audition.   She just turned 16 and is eligible for the first time.   She’s probably crying, and auditioning…and crying. (If you are unfamiliar with Ashley read this.)

According to the Pasadena Star-News, “thousands” of people turned up at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena to audition, causing backlogs on the freeway and prompting fire officials to send extra personnel on site.

More info as it becomes available!

Really?!?! I didn’t know that. :) Was she crying too? :)

Oh god…Ashley. She is guaranteed to at least reach the judges. That is just way too priceless to pass up!!

Yes she was xD… here is the video

Think about the finale: It featured Tatiana, Bikini Girl (that one still makes me sick), and Normund (tho I actually like Nick a lot). They are still committed to the crazies. And I think they really need an angle this year (well, *they* think they do). Instead…how about:

    Normal people who can sing
    No wildcard round
    Top 24
No save (tho I am glad it kept Matt on the show)
    THREE judges
    Less judging, more singing
    30 minute results shows
Mentors who really MENTOR (like Jamie Foxx and NOT Quentin Tarantino, joke)

I really wonder what is going to happen with S9 if they do not find another Adam-like superstar. You *know* TPTB desperately want another one. Will viewers watch without an Adam-like superstar (b/c Adam cannot be duplicated)? Of course, we said that after Cook, but Adam is, dare I say it, even bigger. Love you, Kris, I really do, but a lot of us watched for Adam first, you, second, Allison or Matt or Anoop, third, and so on.

Adam is so not going to any of these try-outs without several handlers…

And back to Ashley: Tears of a Clown, sung by Adam to an Ashley loses it again and again montage.

  • girlygirl:

I read that Alexis is working at some of these tryouts as the on-scene reporter (like Brandon Rogers is doing here in L.A.)

Thanks for that video, Cruz. I just might watch season 9 just for the crying girl. Hahaha!

  • AC:

can i make a prediction that season 9’s winner will be a male country singer? or a female rocker? those 2 niches haven’t been taken by a winner yet right? hehe

  • Duke:

Here’s a Video of some of the rejectees:

there’s a lot more if you just go to youtube, type in “american idol LA”, and sort by ‘newest’.

This is so weird, I missed the first seven seasons of Idol so I’m watching it in order (through the magic of bittorrent). I just got to this episode (top 11, British Invasion) today. I was dying watching this girl. It seemed like she was either having an extreme, elated reaction to the singing or that she had some kind of bizarre crying-disorder. That reaction, though, is strangely appropriate for the British Invasion, perhaps she was channeling an old Beatles fan.

  • lifeisfun:

It would be awesome if she could sing well because the shock of the judges and viewers would priceless… but she’s probably just an attention. I hope she doesnt cry but actually approaches the auditions seriously *like that would ever happen*

    No lie.

    NO!!! ahh! haha…

No, they’re not going to find another Adam, but they’re not going to find someone like Kris either. And it’s not like viewers watched only for Adam since the ratings have decreased from last year. They always… well, almost every season.. find a superstar but they come in all different forms. I’m just wondering what kind of back stories they can find this year since they already had a widower, natural disaster victim, oil rigger, etc. all covered. Oh wait, they have the best friend of the widower, the brother of a past contestant, and a crying girl. wahh!

thanks Duke for the link. wow! only this season i found out that before you get to the judges you need to get through other people. i saw this interview with this guy who went to the chicago auditions and he said that normally for the first round its the junior producers, then middle level producers and then you get to sing in front of the big producers so last yr it was nigel lythgoe. man, you must be super lucky to get through all these auditions cos it all depends on what the show is looking for instead of actual talent. and some of the rejectees sang really well!

  • jumpstart:

    Thank God for DVR.

“I need a bigger camera to vent.”

    LOL
