BIG, BIG KUDOS to both ADAM and DANNY for using celebrity to give support and funds for worthy charitable endevours. I know some of the others have also done good works as well. Reinforces my faith in our young up and coming stars!!!!

Danny has touched a lot of people and changed their ways, and now something to remember his wife is wonderful news. As a fan of Danny, I’m very proud of him not to look at all the negative crap that’s been said about him and be proud of what he’s accomplished.

I also believe the Dream Center is where Danny and Michael volunteered during American Idol. The Dream Center does lots of good things in LA including feeding the homeless.

Yes, it is a wonderful organization. And speaking of Michael, he just performed there last night, and according to his tweets, he performed a new single he wrote himself. I hope a video leaks out, .

Now that the show is over, I don’t think any of them are obstacles for the other. The top 4 were all signed, have chosen their music career paths and I hope they all find success and happiness. Looks like Danny is on his way to doing just that.

The only time I wasn’t a Danny fan is when I thought he was an obstacle for Adam. After that, I was for Danny all the way. He has a gorgeous voice and a great heart.

That’s so great for Danny and also for his wife’s family who have worked very hard with him to build a charitable legacy in her memory to help disadvantaged youth.
Danny and Matthew Barnett who runs the Dream Center seem to have a great relationship of mutual respect that goes back well into the AI season.
I’d guess the Dream Center must be where Danny (and Michael) were volunteering their time during the AI season? (as reported by that LA Times AI blogger a while ago, neither Danny nor Michael said a word about it during the show)
(Not to go too off-topic, but I also think it’s really sweet to see Matt’s tweets where he’s spending time with his “Little Brother” back home in Michigan. AI seems to have had some really nice contestants this year, several of them have been good role models working with or raising funds for charities, including Adam of course also.)

Danny is an inspiration to the young people he aims to help lift out of their predetermined grim lives in that he ignored all the hate that came his way and continues to work toward his vision of Sophia’s Heart Foundation. This is just the first step I’m sure in his vision of helping disadvantaged youth and their families. What a wonderful tribute to his soulmate Sophia.

I’m not sure if the Youth Outreach Center is a separate building, or an office within the Dream Center, that’s a good question. Either way, it’s a wonderful thing. And I am just as pleased that Matthew Barnett and Danny have established a relationship. The vision that Danny has talked about for SHF seems very much like what the Dream Center is doing now, so working with an organization that has established a track record of great success (I had not heard of what happened with Press Play, that is really great) is a really fantastic thing for him and for supporters of SHF.

I don’t think they named the building after her, though that would have been very sweet, I think one of the programs that does it’s work at the Dream Center was named in her honor…is how I understand it. And, I think, some of the funds to keep the program operating come from Sophias Heart. Please correct me if I am wrong.

And, when charity works I say kudos to Danny and his fans and those that donated. Nice job.

What a wonderful honor in memory of Danny’s wife. I am sure he is humbled and appreciative that his wife’s name and memory will be immortalized with the naming of the building after her. I am happy that a dream he had hoped for has come to fruition. What ever one’s opinion of Danny was/is it was obvious he loved his wife.

I have seen Danny mention the Dream Center and Matthew Barnett a number of times. What a great mentor for him, and how wonderful that Danny and Sophia have been honored this way. I’m sure you’re right MJ, this must have meant a lot to Danny. After all he has been through, it makes me very happy to see his dreams coming true, both with making his album and with his desire to honor Sophia by making a positive difference in the world.

Okay, this is just way cool. Go Danny!! That has got to be one heck of a great feeling. It’s the type of thing that makes the beating he took from being seen/cast as “the ghoulish widower” on Idol worth it.
